you can spend the night tonight like always,'long as you first tell me..
The warm wind whispers through my lowered window, carrying the sounds of laughter and music as I finally shifted my Bentley GT into park after twenty minutes of trying to find the closest parking spot for her.
I was parked on W 16th Street, outside of the Dream Hotel, waiting for her to conclude her night of festivities. She'd called while I was at the studio, asking if I could pick her up from Aubrey's party after I wrapped things up. Yesterday marked the beginning of my three-day stint in her city, and it had been a fairly busy day for me. Morning began with a rush of rehearsals and the afternoon was marked by interviews. Trips to the studio for final touches on my album only heightened the crescendo, affectively dominating my night. Nevertheless, the opportunity to see her was just too precious to pass up.

Today 1:37 AMI'm here
I'm waiting out front for youThe wet, populous streets of the city filled with celebrities as hazy clouds sweeps over the city that never sleeps. The puddles of rain water shimmered by the glow of the bright lights. Buildings stretch across the horizon. Everywhere you turned, you saw people dressed up in the finest designer, brightest diamonds, and riding the most expensive cars. Beautiful women from every borough and beyond, having an unapologetic time dancing on one another and getting the men riled up. At night, this gorgeous and miraculous part of New York City lights up in every color known to man, making the "Big Apple" sparkle even more.
The abundance of Louise Clement and Chicago Peace roses that, quite literally, filled my passenger seat caught my eye once again. As soon as I stepped foot on US soil I'd rushed to get a combination of her favorite pink roses, expecting to see her earlier but, as always, we had conflicting schedules. I haven't seen her since I left New York about three weeks ago, subsequent to us arriving back to the states after celebrating my birthday together in Trinidad and Tobago.
These few weeks without her have felt...different. I was thinking, no doubt, of our nights in bed, of the extemporaneous romantic gestures and sensuality, which had made those nights so delightful, so superior to my past, present, or anything to come. And these nights were being acted out under a foreign sky, with no one to watch, no penalties attached—it was this last fact which was our reasoning for surrendering to all of our drunken desires. Anytime and anyplace.
I've missed this woman so much.
My eyes winced for any sign of her as more and more people began to exit the building. Only the sound of her custom text chime pulled my eyes away from the crowd.
