Baljeet POV

"Hey guys. Whatcha doin?" Her voice rang sweet as she spoke.

Looking up was kinda not surprisingly Isabella. That question is always what kinda gave her away. Funnily enough phineas has yet to acknowledge her advancements onto him. It's been like that their entire relationship ever since middles school. I'm curious why she would come over to us out of all her friends.

"Nothin' just eatin' lunch," Buford spoke before munching on another chip.

"Cool mind if I sit?" She looked at both of us and waited for an answer but something caught my eye.

"Uhh sure but isn't Phineas in that direction?" Buford said jokingly pointing the opposite direction.

Isabella giggled as she walked forward and sat In between me and Buford. As I scooch over I can hear how she dominates the conversation between themselves. I finish the rest of the sandwich trying not to be rude and listen in when I hear something I never thought would come from either party.

"So Buford I hear you know how to show a girl a good time. How about you pick me up around 5:30? I don't mind fast food after the movie, kay bye!" She spoke with confidence and as she stood up I saw his face.

The conflict in those deep blue eyes grew as she graciously walked away as if nothing she said had any effect whatsoever. She certainly didn't hold back being straightforward about such a thing. They don't even have anything in common. Plus she can't already be over phineas since I heard her rambling this morning about what he was wearing to science class. If he says yes though... wait he didn't even respond.

"What just happened? I feel like I got whiplashed by a monster truck," he continued to stare at the slim, black haired tied low with a pink bow, and never breaking stride of a girl.

My chest began to fill with what can only be described as crushing. Like a sting that I couldn't locate. Looking at me he seemed to shrugged it off and smiled at me before returning my long forgotten book. After gently accepting it; the feelings from before were back. With my heart beating so loud I could feel it against my rib cage. Slowly putting his hand towards my head he spoke.

"You have a leaf in ya hair and I'm just movin' to get it out since I know sudden movements scare ya," his voice so gentle I didn't think it came from him.

Pulling the item away he blew on it gently and watched it fall to the grass. Smiling again he looked back and time felt frozen. Like a pause button of the remote control on a movie. I should test my symptoms when I get home to see if I'm Ill. Sadly whatever this is doesn't last before the bell is ringing and I jump up like clockwork.

"I mustn't be late. Thank you for sharing such a delicious lunch, it was a nice change of pace to be here. Uh sorry for running off so soon," I can tell I'm rambling a lot before I bump into a trash can.

Chuckling sheepishly I try to walk again casually before tripping over my feet thankfully catching myself. Looking back he's chuckling and looking at me like I'm the only thing he sees right now. Which is obviously because I'm making a fool out of myself on accident because I am not looking at my directions. Turning finally I walk hurriedly to my AP Physics class, sit down and grab my textbook. My textbook? Rummaging throughly through my bag I seem to have misplaced my quantum physics textbook but the last place I had it was today with-

"Hey! Baljeet! Jeez... ya cover... lotta grounds when you's in a hurry," Buford said winded as he slouched holding his knee breathing hard.

I could feel the blood in my cheeks burn up like im beginning to get sick. I gently take the book placing it neatly on my desk. He's really trying to win me over to be friends again??

"Thank you Buford! I am very sorry to have bothered you by my fast pace to physics. Now please don't be late to your class," I say hurriedly but joyfully.

I am so grateful me and him have started anew. It's such a great time to not be alone and pushed around anymore. Who knew it only has been two weeks since we were talking. Sitting back at my desk after some quick byes I remember the lunch break I had just witnessed between Buford, a good witch, and a third wheel.
