It is a starry night and the streets are peaceful. The lights of the houses around the streets already went out. The sound of silence starts to echo across the household of Brimming. The sound of Jake's phone typing away his thoughts on his e-diary as usual covers around the room as the jazz music shimmer through in the background. As he is finishing his journal of the day, a notification pops up, "Jetstar: Yo, you up for some late gaming session?" It is his gaming friend he met a few years back. They pulled it off on shooting games and have become friends ever since. "Sure, I'm up for some shooting. I'm logging in now." They played the game for a solid two hours and they both said their goodbyes before shutting down the computer. Jake goes straight to bed and starts his alarm for 6 a.m. After numerous times of moving from the right side to the left side back to back, he looks at his phone with the big number 02:00 a.m. on the screen. He sighs and he decides to use his alternative method to fall asleep by going to his imagination palace. As his mind gets lost to the imagination palace, he can feel his consciousness fades away.

"Ugh, damn you the man who invented alarms."

As Jake gets up from his dear bed and fades away from his blissful heaven, he looks at his phone with one eye open. The big 06:45 number catches him by surprise. He jumps out of the bed and goes right to the bathroom to get ready for school.

The school is as dull as ever for Jake. Nothing ever seems to take his interest aside from his books and video games. Is he wired wrong? Is he a born-nerd that can't enjoy normal things? These are just a few of many random thoughts that run amok in his mind when he is in a calm state of mind during class. As he is entering the portal to his mind palace, a shout comes down from the hall "HEY, IT'S BECKETT". Everyone in the hall just stares at her, mesmerized by her beauty and elegance. Every step she takes, the audience gets weak in the knees, and temporarily forgets about reality.

Beckett is the most well-known girl in school and possibly in town, mostly due to her family's wealth and influence towards the city, not to mention her skills in Volleyball. With fame and wealth comes spoiled little kid. Unfortunately, this saying applies to the mighty Sophia Beckett. She is widely known to be the most spoiled girl in school, having everyone both boys and girls on their knees for her, completing every demand she ever so wishes. Everyone is doing it because they need the boost to their social status. They believe that by being around a Beckett, their lives can improve for the better in the long run. They are so desperate that it is sad to see how much social status can change someone. However, there is one person who is immune to the girl's charm. It is unknown as to why Jake is immune. Is it because of his preference in a girl? Is it because of her obnoxious personality? Or is it because he is different? The only thing that is certain is that he does not give any ounce of care in her conquest of controlling everyone in the school.

The class finally starts and the new semester begins. Every student got their seating arrangement. Most of the students yelled at the teacher for the awful seating placement, except for Jake. He got the best seat in the class, the far back corner near the window seat. He was free from any disturbance during his adventure, until he found out the disturbance that will potentially ruin everything.

"Looks like I'm sitting next to a weirdo this semester", Beckett exhales with every breath she has.

"Whatever you say, lady", Jake shrugs.

"You know, you should feel lucky and thank every kind of God there is that you get to be sitting next to me", she says while crossing her arms looking down on him.

Jake just ignores her and goes back to minding his own affair to get ready for the class.

"HEY, I'm talking to you here!!" she raises her voice only to be still ignored by him. Beckett has never been ignored by anyone. The fact that there is someone alive around her vicinity that is capable of rejecting her charms is too much for her ego to handle. As she sits herself and gets settled for the first class, her mind starts to wonder about why this boy right here is capable of resisting her charm. She starts to worry about her ability in enticing people.

Class has ended and break time starts. The class is taking their lunches both in the classroom and cafeteria. Jake goes to the cafeteria for his lunch and sits alone enjoying his meal in solitary. Meanwhile, Beckett is surrounded by her lackeys. As always, she has an extravagant meal prepared by her servants at home that attracts other students. The smell of the well-done steak along with the marvelous sauce cannot help but to make the whole class gulp their saliva. The girls start to conduct their daily dose of gossip as usual. While the girls are gossiping, the only thing that is occupying Beckett's mind is Jake. "Any of you know that weirdo, Jake?" Beckett asks with a rather serious look on her face. She was hoping to get some details about his background so she can use them to make him on his knees for her. Unfortunately, her lackeys do not know anything about him mainly due to him being a loner. Most people would just give up and be done with it but not Sophia Beckett. She is determined to find out what exactly makes him tick and how to manipulate him. As Jake walks in, she looks at him with a determined look and thinks to herself, "I will make you down on your knees for me, weirdo." Confused with the look she gave him; he starts to question her sanity in all this. He shrugs it off and continues with the class.
