Chapter -6 ( The Book )

Some people say, mysterious peoples came from mysterious places.Even though, I don't believe it. But sometimes life makes you think about something you never wanted to think or believe. something seems off here. Suddenly, I heard a voice..........It was,

- Miss Lauren?
- Hello! dear. I hear that you were searching a book. Is it true?
- Yeah.
- Which one?
- The school's history book.
- Oh, well,But I-
- Lost it long ago?
- Um...yeah. How do you know that?
- Miss Clara told me.
- oh! Ok,then...Good night.
- You too miss Lauren.

Saying that, the headmistress left.

The more she talks, the most she gets suspicious to me.Looks like, now I have to meet Ryan.... in the backyard

I was waiting for Elviera. But she is too late. What if someone caught me here and ask me what I am doing here at this time. What I will say then? Suddenly, I turned and saw Elviera at my back,..... looking like a dead person.

- Ahhh!!!! Oh my goodness!  you scared me! How did you came at my back? - As far as I know, humans don't have wings, the only thing they have is a pair of legs. What do you think?

- Nothing. why you are so late?

- It was hard to come out of the room, since I.Have.Roommates.

- Oh! ok. Well, I have roommates whom are like night owl.Whatever.Now follow me.

- Where?

- You will know. Now come.

I followed him and came infront of a store room.It smells like a dustbin.

- Why we are here?
- Didn't  you said you wanted the book?
- Here?
- Yeah! Let's go inside.

The store room doesn't have a floor. It is made of some woods above the ground.

- Here. This the book.
- How did it came here?
- I hide it here?
- How? Miss Lauren said she lost at long ago.
- Well...she lied.
- Didn’t understand. Care to explain?
- Ok,so...

That was the first time I came here. It  was 2 years ago. Just like you I was also curious about everything. I love to hear music at night and read history books at day. One day I was going to the library and there I saw Miss Lauren. I saw that she was picking something for drawers,  more like secret drawers. It was a book named School's history. I followed her at her office and saw that she burnt that book. Don't know, why?

Out of curiosity, I went back to the library and found that secret drawers. Shockingly , I also found another history book there. Looks like there was a extra copy of that book and Miss Lauren didn’t know that.I tried to read that book but it was written in French. I was worried  that somebody might find this book, that's why I hide it here.

I didn't find anyone who knows French and didn't even try to learn it because I thought somebody might suspect me.

- So...here it is.

-  Then why did you give it to me?

- because I thought you are also curious like me. And you look like someone I can trust.

- I just don't understand. Why didn't you bring it with you, when you went home? you could easily find a translator to translate it.

- No I can't. You see, I am the only child of my parents and they both are always busy. Sad but true that I didn't even went my home in 2 years.

Elviera keep silent and went back to her room.
