𝟑. 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑

As the mother-daughter pair changed into comfortable clothes, they gather around the table to do their daily routine. From paintings to chatting about their day, while sipping a warm drink.

"Linda!"

A sudden familiar voice bashed open the door.

"Papa!" Said Annie is excitement

"You're early today, Gardeon," said Linda, raising her eyebrow

Mr. Grace sat down, before pulling out, and so did Ann.

"It was a pretty peaceful day today, Linda, So I could flip work quick today"

Gardeon Grace worked as a journalist at the local papers. Wrote novels and poems. But also, was a social leader, and lead the people's moments in the valley. Had a serious interest in human anatomy and psychology, which led him to tremendous reading sessions. And every evening he read a few pages for Ann.

"Papa, would you read for me today?"

The father pulled up a lovely smile and said "I may not read but to do have something special for you my little lady..." while giving a tiny pouch.

Annie squealed with joy, as she opened them to find new paintbrushes.

"I had been longing for these! Thank you, father!".

At that time, Annie quickly ran over to her upstairs, to her little treasure box where she kept her valuables. A white rock her friend gave away, before being adopted, Her first and recent orchid harvest, and some little bits of crafts.

She had a paint palette which was her mother's when she was a child, made by her grandfather. Annie never used it because it felt too precious to be handled. Passed down from a past generation means a big deal, thought Annie.

But this thing, she took things into her little hands and took up the courage, to use the brush that her father bought and her mother's paint palette, together to create a masterpiece.

Back in the dining room.

"And for the big lady..." Said Gardeon while pulling out a sealed letter from his leather bag.

Linda: "Oh, a letter?"

Gardeon: "Well, yes, a letter"

Linda: What is it about?

Gardeon: It's from the king....
