Emily's investigation had uncovered some disturbing secrets about the history of Elmwood Apartments. She had discovered that the building had been constructed on an old cemetery that had been hastily relocated in the 1950s. According to old newspaper clippings, some of the graves had been left behind, their occupants forever lost beneath the concrete foundation of the apartment building.

As Emily delved deeper into the history of the building, the occurrences in her apartment became even more frequent and terrifying. She would wake up in the middle of the night to find shadowy figures standing at the foot of her bed, their glowing eyes fixed on her. She heard whispering voices coming from behind the walls, and felt a cold, oppressive presence whenever she was alone in the apartment.

Despite the danger, Emily refused to back down. She continued to investigate, seeking out anyone who might have information about the history of the building. But as she dug deeper, she began to feel like she was being watched, like someone or something was tracking her every move.

One night, as she was sitting in her apartment, poring over old documents, she heard a knock at the door. She hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest. She hadn't been expecting anyone. Slowly, she made her way to the door, her hand shaking as she turned the handle.

On the other side of the door was a man she had never seen before. He was tall and thin, with long, spindly fingers that seemed to curl around the doorframe. His eyes were dark and sunken, and his face was twisted into a sneer.

"Hello, Emily," the man said, his voice a low, guttural growl. "We've been expecting you."
