Emily's unease only grew as the days passed. Strange occurrences seemed to happen more frequently, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Every time she entered her apartment, she felt like she was being watched by an unseen presence.
The first strange occurrence happened a few days after Emily moved in. She was in the kitchen, making herself a cup of coffee, when she heard a soft whisper behind her. She turned around, but no one was there. She shrugged it off as her imagination and went back to her coffee, but the feeling of being watched persisted.
The next occurrence was harder to dismiss. Emily woke up one night to find all of the doors in her apartment were open. She was sure she had locked them before going to bed, but now they were all wide open. She searched the apartment, but found no evidence of a break-in. The strange thing was, nothing had been taken.
Over the following days, Emily experienced more unexplained occurrences. She heard footsteps in the hallway, but when she went to investigate, there was no one there. The TV would turn on by itself, even when it wasn't plugged in. Her clothes would disappear, only to reappear in a different part of the apartment.
Emily knew something was wrong, but she couldn't put her finger on what it was. She started to research the history of the apartment building, hoping to find some clue as to what was happening. But the more she dug, the more she realized that the building had a dark past, with a history of mysterious deaths and unexplained phenomena.
As the occurrences became more frequent and more terrifying, Emily began to wonder if she would ever be able to escape the haunting of Elmwood Apartments.
