Aragorn awoke, looking around he saw that his back rested against a large tree. Nearby, Samwise was bent over one of his many pots, for it seemed sunset was . Merry, Pippin and Gimli were nowhere to be seen. "Ah! You are awake! We were starting to get worried, Merry, Pippin and Gimli have just gone off to find me some nice seasoning. They should be back soon I think." Aragorn nodded and stood up, leaning on the tree for support, only to be knocked down again when two short Hobbits barreled into him. Aragorn chuckled as the curly mops looked up, "Strider! You fell over on the path, so we picked you up and took you here. Sam's been making some stew and he asked us to find some herbs...he said it was Frodo's favourite". Pippin trailed off at the end, his voice becoming more sorrowful as he spoke. Sam cleared his throat and glanced at Merry and Pippin, clearly wanting the herbs he had been waiting so long for.

After filling up on Sam's stew, the five headed off again, determined to find the second Ring-Bearer. Aragorn glanced to the sky, seeing dark clouds gathering and his stomach with dread, the rain would wash away any tracks that Legolas and Boromir had left behind. Though he assumed that Boromir had taken towards Edoras for supplies before heading towards Minas Tirith, Aragorn knew from experience that trusting an assumption alone could end in despair for everyone. This thought spurring him on, Aragorn motioned for the Hobbits to speed up, just as thunder sounded above. Valar, please, not now, not when we're so close.

Aragorn sent his desperate plea to the heavens as thunder crashed and rain started pouring. Within seconds, they were drenched and all hope of finding Legolas in the next few days was dropped like sodden baggage.

This is a shitty chapter cuz i really dont feel like dragging my sleep deprived ass through the mud to make a half decent one...

Also i realise i kinda forgot about Gimli  in the last couple so i mentioned him in this BECAUSE HES STILL HERE. might go back and edit past chapters later and put him in.

btw next chapter has some good fuckin torture shit in it so im excited
