Down Deep

Chapter 1 Awoken

       Everything is dark, one flickering light remains, I get up dropping my backpack off my shoulder, Looking around to see my peers, no one is awake. I slowed shuffle down the aisle of the bus up to the front. Ms. Farcer head faced down on the wheel, blood puddling beneath her, goosebumps rise on my arms I look up trying not to look down at the obviously dead bus driver next to me just to realize theres no sun, no land, where are we? A small fish goes flying past the front bus window, My eyes widen as I see the blood thirsty shark chase after it. Water? We are at the bottom of the ocean?!  I began to panic, the feeling of all the air leaving my body, I cant catch my breath! Suddenly a groan from the back of the bus, snapping me out of the state of panic I was entering, I run back tripping on a few bags to check on whoever made noise. I make it to the back of the bus and I see a young girl holding her head.
     What's your name? I asked, "Belle" she replied shortly after. LIKE THE PRINCESS I stated which seemed to shock her, most likely my tone. I wasn't trying to be rude I state, "I didn't think you were" she replied quicker this time. I sat down in the seat next to hers trying to make her feel less threatened I looked at her she looks young like elementary. She looked up at me with big eyes, "What's your name?" She asked. My name is Spence I answered hoping that would make her trust me more. She finally looked around before starting to cry everywhere realizing we are not at school, nor her home, but in the middle of the ocean. I try to shush her, attempting to calm her down. I remember a cookie I have in my bookbag, I reach behind and get the cookie out of the pocket and handed the bagged cookie to the crying little girl. She seemed surprised but a bit calmer, I let out a sigh of relief when her crying comes to an end. I hope I can at least save her, shes to young, to sweet..
