Ride Or Die (UNDER MAINTENANCE)

Chapter 5

A P R I L

I followed Dom into the building with a mask over my head and a gun. We ran in there with guns knocking out the guys who were going to get in our way. "Nobody move!" he said.

The ladies in the bikinis screamed and had fear in their face. They were making money, or something with the money but something illegal. Dom, Brian, Roman, Tej and I fought the men who tried to stop us as the women hid under the tables.

Brian and I gathered all the money (which was heavy) and put it on a huge stack. It was American money. It feels weird seeing American money considering I haven't been in America for the longest time.

"That's all of it." Brian said walking towards Dom. I took a deep breath before I walked towards Brian and Dom.

"You're dead man," this guy on the floor said. "You're all dead man!"

We all looked at him.

"You don't have a place to hide." he finished. I looked at Dom and he took off his mask, then me and Brian proceeded to follow and remove our mask, then everyone else did too.

"Who's hiding?" I asked.

"Are you crazy?!" He looked at me. "Are you crazy?! Do you know whose house this is? Whose money you're stealing?!"

Dom grabbed the gallon of gasoline and poured it all over the money. He threw the gallon and walked towards me. I pulled out the lighter and gave it to him. He opened it and looked to the guy. "We ain't stealing it." He threw the lighter to the money and the money lit on fire. I can admit it kinda hurt me on the inside, all that money, just being wasted. I swallowed and felt a hand grab mine. I looked over and saw Brian hold my hand. My eyes shifted towards him and I gave him a small smile. Then I got the sudden realization that Han was in the same room we were in. I looked over to Han and I could see him looking at us. I let go of Brian's hand, and scratched my nose and sniffed. I didn't hold Brian's hand again, I held onto my gun with both of my hands.

"Tell your boss, exactly who did this. Tell him there is more coming." Dom said and we left.

We continued with the plan and as I was about to get in the car to get the hell out of here, Brian grabbed my hand and I twisted backwards and faced him. I was embarrassed to look at him in the eyes.

"What was that back there?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You know what I mean." he repeated.

"You know me, I'm a professional, I can't get my personal life get in with what I'm doing." I responded.

"Ouch, April." he said.

"No, look I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel like that. I love you. I'll make it up to you later." I winked at him leaning in to kiss him. He hesitated but then kissed back.

A couple hours passed and I sat next to Brian in the car while finishing my fries Brian bought for me, waiting for Tej to signal us.

"So what to you plan to do with your money?" Brian asked.

"I...I don't know." I said. "Get help...for myself. With the insomnia, the memories, I'm just broken."

"Don't say that-"

"I say that cause its true." I cut him off. A couple seconds of silence passed until his voice broke it.

"I'll tell you what we're gonna do. We're gonna disappear, have the wedding of a life time, live in an amazing house where ever you want, and have a family..." he said grabbing my hand. "Yeah?"

I chuckled. "Yeah..." He leaned in to kiss me and I kissed him back.

"I got eyes on five." We heard Tej say through the walkie talkie. We stopped kissing and drove. We spotted Dom and looked at him as a signal. As we kept driving we heard Tej speak up. "I know ya'll said they were consolidating the money somewhere but, ya'll ain't gonna believe this."

Brian and I looked at each other and drove to the building Tej was at. We looked down at the police station where they were consolidating the money.

"Well this job got a lot harder." Brian and I said at the same time.

"If he's moving into a police station, he's got some serious brass in his pocket." Roman said.

"Parece que este va a ser un viaje más corto de lo que pensaba..." Rico said. (Looks like this is gonna be a shorter trip then I thought)

"Hell no we can't do this." Tego added.

"Can't? You mean shouldn't." Han said.

"I think this doesn't change a thing." Dom said crossing his arms. "I say we stick to the plan."

"I agree..." I said.

"You say what?" Roman asked looking at Dom then at me. Brian looked at Roman with a smirk. "This went from mission impossible, to mission in-freaking sanity."

I looked at Brian and he wanted to laugh at Roman wussing out. "Whatever man, I ain't scared, I'm just letting ya'll know that going into that building is crazy." Roman walked off.

"I got this." Brian chased after Roman to see if he can change his mind.
