Stevie's Pov

"You have to understand I only know what my mother told me. I can't speak for your father." Sin says as he looks at me with serious expression.

I take a minute to think on it before I nod my head for him to continue. The next day has arrived and now I have to get some sort of clarity about my father's affair with Sin's mother.

He seems to take my causal nod before he continues. "My mom did the best she could to raise me. She worked two sometimes three jobs just to put food on the table. The moment she met your dad she stopped working so much. He started paying off her bills. You have to understand, My mother, was independent and she never liked hand outs so for your dad to get my mom to help him pay for things was a big deal. "

My eyes start to well up with tears as it hurts to hear how my father basically swept Sin's mother off her feet. He was suave like that, my mothering always bragging about how charming he use to be with they were younger.

It fills me with a bitterness that I can taste as I think about how many women he did that too. Jackson Blake must of been the biggest scoundrel in this town and I never even had a clue.

"He met my mother at the bar, Pop 'a' top when she use to waitress there. one night he came in and they got to talking. He told her he was separated, and his wife, your mother wasn't willing to sign the divorce papers. He told her lies and stories about how he hasn't loved his wife for a long time, and he wanted to be free of the tedious marriage that she forced him in." Sin's tone dropping with sympathy as he looks at me.

I could feel Beau and Heath at my side, doing the same. Even though it hurts to hear my father basically call my mother boring I had to know the truth or at least the version of it.

So I nod for him to continue, he sighs rubbing his hands across his face before continuing. "It wasn't long after he started dropping by the house or showering her with gifts. I think my mom got caught up in the idea that he was a wealthy man. And he could possibly get her out of this shit hole town. To her you father was her saving grace. It all stopped though once she got pregnant."

He swallows hard as he checks in with me one last time. "Its okay Sin. Keep going I need to know it all. "

He nods, "Lily was a suprise. My mother was on birth control, but the moment your dad found out, he claimed she tried to trap him. They fought, and he stormed out. He didn't come back until three months after Lily was born. My mother got diagnosed with breast cancer when she was pregnant with Lily. They told her to terminate, but she refused. She saw Lily as a gift, a miracle that God had given her, so she chose to have her. When Lily was born they immediately started pumping her with chemo to reduce the size of the tumor. She was so sick and I didn't know what to do. I was scared my mom was hurting and she had a newborn she couldn't take care of."

He pauses as his eyes start to well with unshed tears. My own coming forth as he has trouble speaking about his mother's past illness then one that still killed her in the end. My heart feeling so heavy at all the pain he must of endured watching his mother basically die.

"So I called him. Told him he had a daughter and my mother is dying."

My eyes widen with suprise. He watches me carefully. "I was told not too, but we had no money and Lily needed formula. My mother couldn't breast feed because of the chemo. He came, and he gave us some money and a promise that he would take Lily in. That his wife wanted another baby. But.."

He trails off as a small tear falls from his face, he quickly wipes at it as he coughs to clear the emotion from his throat. He looks away from us clearly needed the minute to rid his mind from trouble pasts.
