NICHOLAS SINCLAIR
-
sure you want one more

I leaned against the wall of the station as Dylan said goodbye to all her officer friends, she hugged them tight its clear that the law enforcement here were like her family, in a way they raised her. Especially this Tim character who Dylan was refusing to say goodbye to because he would make her emotional and 'ruin her street cred'.

She briskly walked past Tim heading to the front doors.

Seeing as though my daughter was no longer here I walked outside.

Just as Dylan was about to enter the car she paused, then swiftly turned around before running back inside, no doubt to say goodbye to Tim.

She was emotional streetrat, as she liked to say, though she didn't want people to see the emotional side.

Dylan and I looked like polar opposites as we entered the hotel in the next town over, as we checked in at reception I stood in an all black suit, whilst she rocked back and forth in her tattered converse that had holes at the bottom, a black hoodie three times her size with holes at the sleeves and oversized jeans, also accompanied by holes.

She clutched her skateboard in her right hand as a black worn out backpack sat on her shoulders, she'd lived on this earth for sixteen years and this was all she had to show for it.

Had I not failed her, she would've accumulated a collection of things that she would probably discard in a few months like most teenagers.

As I grabbed the keycard we both went to the elevator and I pressed the button to the sixth floor wanting to order room service and sleep, though as soon as Dylan's eyes landed on the buttons she was quick to swipe her hands on all of them making out trip delayed but she stood there with a smile on her face.

I'd take the delayed trip to the hotel room if it made her smile, I'd do anything to make her smile, it's what she deserved.

Dylan tried to remain stale faced but her emotions seeped through and the awe shone through her eyes as she walked round the suite, she then took off into another direction probably heading towards one of the bedrooms whilst I hung up my blazer.

I wonder what her upbringing was like.

Discarding that thought I scanned the room service menus to see what to get Dylan and just as I was about to call for a pizza a crash came from one of the other rooms.

DYLAN SINCLAIR

Shit.

Okay, so maybe jumping on the bed wasn't the best idea but honestly I couldn't help, seriously I couldn't it was like it wanted me to jump, and who would I be to deny the bed of that wish.

But now the floor was littered with glass everywhere and scattered flowers.

They were a complementary gift along with the chocolates that were in my backpack, I was gonna share the with Nicholas on the plane cause I've heard some terrible stories about plane food.

No I haven't, I've not heard anything about planes actually but it's a good excuse so I'm sticking with it.

Hearing quick footsteps approach the room made my heart race slightly, it's a shame really just as I was getting used to the idea of living with Nicholas, but it's okay when he sends me back I'll just guilt trip Tim into giving me hot chocolate before beating him in chess.
