Devin's POV:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ September 14th, 2pm~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked in the mirror as I tightened up my tie getting ready to face the fact that the only person I loved in this life was ripped away from me. My mom. She's been gone for 2 weeks but up until this point I still couldn't get my brain to believe and process that she's gone. Every morning I'd wake up and always feel the urge to go into her room and say "good morning" , then I'd have to quickly remember there won't be anymore 'good morning's' or 'good nights'.
I finished adjusting my suit when I heard a beep coming from outside which reminded me of the time. I quickly looked in the mirror once more before going out the door. The funeral escort opened the door for me as I got in, me and my little sister. I felt so bad for her because she didn't understand what was going on she's only 5, remember earlier when I said I lost the only person I loved, well, technically not the only person because I still had my sister. That's what I always told myself when I felt like I had nobody.
~fast forward~ Short Explanation: Devin and his sister arrived at the funeral to see other family members that weren't immediate (yk the ones you see once a year), Devin have a speech, the choir song, and the pastor spoke, people shared their stories, cried, and finally exited the funeral home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~September 15th, 6:00 am~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next day I woke up, well, sat up because I couldn't get much sleep I had too much on my mind just too much. I shrugged it off and just got ready for school knowing what I'd be coming back to, people giving their condolences, teachers reminding me of missing work, people treating me like I'm fragile, awkward stares. Why the awkward stares ? Because everyone in town knew my mom, she was one of the best lawyers in town.
I got into my car, took my sister to school, and then drove to my own school. As I walked into the building I could just feel the stares and looks of sorrow everyone was giving me. I just wanted it to stop I'm not some fragile vase that it meant to be cared with caution . Everyone is so fake, before this happened no one even cared of my existence and now everyone only cares of my existence.
I walked into my first block and went to my desk in the back. I put on my headphones and started zoning out conversations that were going on around me. As I started playing a song someone has snatched my headphones out. I looked over to see none other than 'Ms. Queen of River Creek: Jessica Glass' . I looked at her with a deep look of annoyance, the type that asks without talking "what do you want?". "Hey uhmm Dylan right?" Jessica asked. Dylan ? This bitch didn't even know my name so why tf would she come up to me. "No, it's Devin" I stated harshly. "Close enough, anyways, I just wanted to tell you that I liked your mom she was the only person close to being worthy of my time." She stated. The fact that she's telling me this shows the amount of entitlement she feels she has, close to being worthy of her time? "Ok...uhm cool I guess, can you leave now I don't wanna talk about it any further" I said putting my headphones back on. She just had a shocked look on her face like she couldn't grasps the fact that I just dismissed her, she walked off and sat back down.
When I was about to ask to go to the restroom someone walked in and immediately caught my attention, a blonde, 6ft, blue eyed boy was standing in the door way. "That's the prince of Sweden" I heard one girl whisper. "It is, it's really him" Another girl whispered. "I heard he punched a kid and that's why he's here now." A guy said to his friends while chuckling. I am pretty cutoff from the world, I knew there was a prince of course but I never really took into consideration what he looked like.
(A/N: I hope this was good, sorry if I wasn't wording some stuff right I'm currently writing this in the middle of my art class)
