- In the Colony -

Khan sighed, closing the door to the office. It had been 6 months since he had abandoned Uzi. 2 months after the massacre, he had finished all three doors to the colony and had made sure everything was secure and safe enough to move the other Workers in. Instead of just Khan Doorman, he was now known as the 'savior of the colony' or 'Mr. Doorman' or some formal name. But in all honesty, he didn't feel like that at all. He felt horrible for abandoning Uzi. He could've done something else, silenced her, or put her into a forced sleep mode, but no. He decided to throw his beloved daughter, the only child he's ever had and ever will have, to the Murder Drones.

None of the Workers knew what he'd done yet. They all figured that Nori had Uzi when she died, and the Murder Drones had killed or eaten Uzi. They thought Khan was innocent, and that he had done no wrong. What else could they think, when he wouldn't correct them? No, he hadn't confirmed the superstitions, but what was he gonna do? As it he sacrificed his child to save his own metal, of course not.

Khan was snapped from his thoughts as Crane walked in, the father of a young Worker Drone named Thad. Thad and Uzi would be the same age, if Uzi hadn't been killed by the Murder Drones by now. Which, in the most likely case, she has.

"Khan? You okay there, bud?" Crane said, not bothering to refer to Khan formally since they'd been friends for years now. Khan just shook his head, sighing and placing his head in his hands. Crane was silent for a moment, before he pulled up a chair beside Khan and sat down with him. "Do you wanna tell me what's wrong?" He offered.

Khan looked at him worriedly. "Oh no, I couldn't. It would ruin our friendship. You'd hate me, the whole colony would hate me." He said, turning his chair to face Crane.

"Oh come on. I'm sure it's not that serious. I mean, we've been friends for who knows how many years? We've been through thick and thin together. I'm sure our friendship will be fine. The colony won't hate you." Crane said, trying to reassure Khan. "Just talk to me. No one can fix a broken code if we can't find the damaged digit."

Khan sighed, nodding his head slowly. "Okay. I'll tell you, but promise that even if you get mad, you won't tell anyone." Crane nodded, leaning towards Khan to listen. "So you know that night, when the Murder Drones went on a massacre. The night Nori died?" He started, and Crane nodded. "Well, it's about Uzi. That night.."

- AFTER EXPLAINING -

The two were silent after Khan finished explaining, tear.exe mimicking the effect of streaming tears on his visor. Crane was silent, taking in everything he'd just been told.

"So let me get this straight, instead of finding a way to quiet her down, you THREW UZI TO THE MURDER DRONES?" Crane yelled, making Khan flinch. He nodded, turning back to face his desk and placing his head in his hands again.

"I know what I did was wrong. I regret it so, so much Crane. You wouldn't even know. I don't know why I did it, there were so many other alternatives, but that one crossed my mind first." Khan said, and Crane stood up.

"You better regret it! We all thought Uzi died with Nori! When were you planning to tell us you killed Uzi?!" He yelled, and Khan peered up at his friend.

"That's the thing. I don't know for sure Uzi is even dead. When I was looking around the corpses, I couldn't find Uzi anywhere. I looked everywhere, she wasn't there." Khan cried, and Crane bared his robotic teeth.

"What are you trying to suggest? Are you saying that the Murder Drones took in Uzi? That is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard! They're Murder Drones for a reason! They kill our kind." Crane said, slamming his hand on the desk.
