I sat there in my new apartment in the corner of my room as I clicked send, I had just sent a audition for a new series that Tim Burton was producing. My phone rang I stood up from the corner and slowly walked towards my bed, I grabbed my phone it was my best friends Emily and Zaria.
I picked up the phone "What?" I frowned as I jumped in bed, "Did you do it?" Zaria shrieked slightly. "And if you get the role you can finally tell your parents you did something great in your life!" Emily joked,"Yeah, yeah. I sent it and there's like a low chance of me getting it guys." I stated making Zaria clear her throat. "JUST TELL THEM YOUR ESTRELLA GOMEZ!" Zaria yelled into the speaker of her phone, "Yeah, you always put Ester G. Madeline or some shit like that." Emily laughed. "No I put my name as Stella Gomez" I reassured her, "And you know I can't put my name as Estrella Gomez and you know why." I added.
"Well, how long do you think it will take to realize you won't get it?" Zaria joked while both me and Emily laughed, "I think you mean when she gets it." Emily assured us but me mostly. "Well night guys I gotta go." I added sadly while they both screamed bye.
We all sat in my living room getting ready for movie night with the girls, "Zaria where's the popcorn?" Emily yelled as she jumped on to the couch next to me as I opened my MacBook checking something. I had gotten an Email 2 hours ago, all the yelling and cursing was gone it was just me and my thoughts as I read the Email. "What's that Est?" Emily asked pointing at who it was from slightly making me jump, "Yeah, what is that?" Zaria said plopping down the two big bowls of popcorn on the table. "Omg!" Emily shrieked as she manically jumped up and down from the couch while Zaria sat next to us confused and concerned at the same time, "It's from Tim Burton PERSONALLY!" Emily shrieked as Zaria looked at the screen squinting slightly.
"It says..." She said mumbling slightly, "𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢, 𝘞𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘉𝘜𝘛- 𝘞𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘘𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘯, 𝘌𝘯𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘸 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺." Zaria finished as Emily danced around in her matching matching flannel pj pants and black shirt. "You got message personally from THE Tim Burton!" They both shrieked as the danced and jumped up and down, "Probably everyone got a Email straight from him!" Emily shrieked even louder than before. "So? He probably sends it to everyone." I replied as I grabbed the remote starting the movie, "What y'all pick?" Zaria said while she grabbed the bowls of popcorn and giving it to us.
"SCREAM 5!" Emily shouted, "Why?" Zaria asked looking at us both like we crazy. "Cause I want to!" Emily shrieked, "You always pick out the movie!" I screamed. "Can we pay attention? NOW?" Zaria yelled clearly annoyed and wanting to watch the movie already.
The days had past by super fast next thing I know I was in the passenger seat beside Emily and Zaria in the back seat while we all ate McDonald's, "Have you been practicing?" Emily said as she stopped the car at a red light. "Yes, actually." I replied while I took a sip of my vanilla milkshake, "You sure about that?" Zaria added from the back. "When are we gonna arrive!" I whined slightly, "Not yet, and do you even have your script?" Emily added taking a turn into a unfamiliar part of los Vegas. "Yes, it's right here." I replied grabbing it from the glove.
"We arrived!" Emily happily screamed, "Finally, we made it!" I whined as she parked the car in front of a building. "So? We just stay here until you finish?" Zaria asked slightly annoyed of the thought of waiting here for me to finish, "Yeah, I guess." I replied getting myself ready. "It starts at 12, right?" Emily asked looking over at me then at the time on the radio, "why did you choose that outfit?" Zaria said looking up at me from the back seat. "What do you mean?" I said looking down. At my clothes, I was wearing a Heart print flounce Sleeve Tee and my cute Bootcut Jeans with my Air Jordan 4 retro's. "Is it bad?" I asked looking at her as she smirked, "You look like your going to high school" She laughed as I rolled my eyes looking over at Emily. "You look cute, and it's time for you to go before your late." She added with a smile. "I have to go! I'll miss you guys! Love you" I said dramatically as I left the car while Zaria whined dramatically with me.
I walked in the building and was meant by people everywhere, "Umm, Miss. Gomez?" A man who seems to be in his mid-twenties dressed up in fancy clothes said as he walked toward me slowly. "Yeah, that's me." I replied with a gentle smile, "Hi, I'm Arron Ralph" He added with a small smile as he held his hand out. "I'm Stella." I replied shaking his hand, "Mr. Burton, has been awaiting you for a while now." He added turning his head towards a group of people. "Oh? Really?" I said as he nod with a slight grin, "Well I have to go now, you can go into that room for the table read." He smiled as I nod.
I walked in slowly and all heads turned to me and so did Tim's, I waved at him with a slight smile and quickly walked toward a seat that had my name on it. He seemed very disappointed in me, I sat down at this big round table. My eyes looked everywhere I was sweating slightly, "Great first impression." Someone mumbled a little to loud, it was a dark chocolate haired girl with slightly visible freckles across her face. My ears were turning red, we locked eyes she smirked. Someone cleared there throat making me break eye contact, "As I was saying, this is the table read. You guys should have been studying the scripts, and should be familiar with the characters." He said looking at all of us. "Let's start off on season 1 episode 1, Wednesday's child is full of woe." He added as we all turned to the page, they all read there lines for the beginning of the episode the girl that whispered in my ear read from her script she plays Wednesday. I was waiting patiently listening to the dark chocolate haired girl she was quite charming, then a chestnut haired girl with a beautiful smile starts speaking. It was about my turn to for script reading, they're talking about Bianca.
"Although her crown's been slipping lately." The chestnut haired girl said with a genuine honeyed tone or voice, "She used to date our resident tortured artist, Xavier Thorpe. But they broke up at the beginning of the semester." She stated looking up from her script. "Reason unknown." She finished It was my turn, "Fascinating." I said emptily looking up from my script toward the chestnut haired girl with a smile. "I know, right?" She rejoiced looking at me with a big smile, "Enid's vlog is, like, the number one source for Nevermore gossip." I joked sarcastically as she laughed slightly. "Wednesday, meet my Best friend, Amethyst." She said as the other girl next to me looked up at me with a smirk, "Yo, Enid! You're not gonna believe the dirt I heard about your new roommate." A guy said looking up at us with a smile. "She eats human flesh." He added, "Chowed down on that kid she murdered." He continued making me giggle slightly. "You better watch your back." He finished looking up from his script making this funny face making me laugh, the chestnut haired girl slightly smacked my arm lightly with a slight giggle. "Quite the contrary." The other girl said carelessly, "I actually fillet the bodies of my victims, then feed them to my menagerie of pets." She added amusingly. "Ajax, this is my new roommate, Wednesday." The chestnut haired girl said with a slight giggle, "Whoa." He said acting completely shocked. "You're in black and white." He said acting completely dumb, "Like a living Instagram filter." He added shockingly I cracked a slight giggle.
"Ignore him. Gorgons spend way too much time getting stoned." She said smiling lightly looking at the dark chocolate haired girl next to me, "He's cute,-" She said before I interrupted her "but clueless." I added. "It's a small school. There wasn't much online about you." The chestnut brown haired girl said, "You should really get on Insta, Snapchat and TikTok." She added. "I find social media to be a soul-sucking void of meaningless affirmation." The dark chocolate haired girl said.
We had finished the table read and I was about to leave but I was stopped by a 5'3 chestnut brown haired girl from before, "Hi! You did so great out there!" She said as she caught up to me. "Oh, you too." I replied looking up at her with a soft smile, "I'm Emma Myers, and you must be?" She asked me with a smile. "Hi! I'm Stella Gomez." I replied with a smile, "Hi, Emma!." A familiar appealing, sour, monotone voice said from behind us a 5'1 dark chocolate haired girl from before was behind us. "Stella, this is Jenna Ortega." Emma said with a smile, "H-Hi" I stuttered and visibly cursed myself out as I looked up at her with a soft smile as a smirk appeared on her face. "Hi." She replied, her smirk faded as she left. "Cheerful isn't she?" Emma said in a sarcastic tone as my smile faded, "Don't worry Ella, she's not always like this." She reassured me with a smile.
