A few days went by. Cassian and Nesta are still way enjoying time to them selfs. Nesta had asked Gwyn if she could house sit for her so the house didn't feel lonely.
Gwyn spent most of her days in the training ring. Practicing breathing, sword combinations, and strengthening her core. She was still hurting from the other night.
She couldn't erase the memory of Elaine and Az kissing so passionately on the fountain.

She shouldn't have gone to look for him she should have never asked Mor where to find for him. She was stupid to think that he would actually want her. A tainted priestesses who lives in a library with little to no money.

Apart of her wished he would have kissed her. She wanted to taste his lips on hers, feel those calloused hands on her skin.
She knew his hands had been scarred but she didn't care. It was one of the many things she loved about him. Those hands had saved her.

She kept throwing punch combinations until she was physically to exhausted to continue.

She walked down to the kitchen where the house had prepared lunch for her. When she walked through the arch way to the dinning room she completely stopped looking around the room. Flowers of numerous colors filled every space of the room. It looked like a garden inside of the dinning room.

There was a vase of the most beautiful white sparkling flowers she had ever seen. They smelled Devine all of the flowers did. She looked up the the house "oh, no one has ever gotten me flowers Thank you!"  She said smiling ear to ear. The house dropped a small note card on the table,

To: Gwyneth
From: Azriel

She quickly stopped admiring the flowers that sat before her and flipped the card around.

I'm so sorry. For everything.

She crumbled the card and threw it into the fire that cracked off to the side and turned to walk out.
But she stopped in her tracks again as the shadow singer looked at her with guilt in his eyes.

Tears began to pool at her eyes and she quickly turned around to wipe her sorrows away.

"Gywn-," he said softly trying not to startle her. "Please can we talk?"

"What for? Theres nothing to talk about" she said sharply, still turning her back to him.

"What you saw the other night wasn't supposed to happen. She jumped on me and I..." there was nothing else he could say. No excuse, she had seen what happened.

"You could have told her no, Az. You could have stopped it but you didn't. You kissed her like you wanted to. Like you have been craving the taste of her for centuries". She said turning her head around so she could see his face.

It was broken utterly broken. The shadow singer dropped to his knees and placed his hands over his face.

"What are you doing, Az? Get up?" She watched him fully turning to him. She noticed his wings dragging the floor, something that they never did. And his shadows were swarming him like they were protecting him.

"Azriel..." she ran over to him crouched infront of him. "Az what is wrong? Why are you acting this way?"

Az finally lifted his head to meet her worried gaze. He didn't deserve to be looked at like that. His hazel eyes practically glowed behind the reds of his eyes that used to be white as tears flowed down his face.

"I never meant to hurt you Gywn, it was a stupid mistake." He whispered falling into a cry.

"Ever since the day we meet, I have never wanted anyone to hurt you ever again. I would rip out anyone's throat who ever tried. But, I hurt you Gwyn and I don't blame you if you never want to see my face again. I can't live with my self,"
He continued fighting through his tears. "You were brave enough to leave that library, brave enough to sing infront of all those strangers, and I completely failed you."

Gwyns eyes started to shutter. Tears begin to flow down her face.
Az lifted his hand to wipe away her tears. She allowed him to do so.
She was in shock that this beautifully massive illaryn  Warrior was on his knees begging for her forgiveness.

"What about Elaine..." Gwyn dared to ask.

"I told her I wanted nothing to do with her. I don't care if I ever get invited back to the inner circle parties. None of it is worth seeing you in pain everyday." He said shadows swarming around the both of them.

Gwyn watched them swarm her brushing her skin, making it rise in small bumps.

"I think they like me." She said trying her best to make him laugh or at least smile.
He did, he smiled and huffed a laugh.
"I think so too. Sorry."
His wings picked up off the floor a bit and looked around at the shadows. They indeed loved Gwyn and he knew that.

"Listen, shadowsinger, I forgive you but don't think you're off the hook," she said placing her palm on his cheek. "Thank you for the flowers. They're beautiful." She said eyes glowing.

He cuffed her face as well. Wondering if she should have asked first. Instead of running from his hands she closed her eyes nestled her cheek caressing each callous on his hand with her soft face.

Gwyn had never felt this way. Her breathing picked up and she wanted to do something bold but was afraid.
She hated her self for feeling that way. She wanted the man kneeling down infront of her in more ways that one.  The man sobbing for her forgiveness. She opened her eyes and whispered to the spymaster, "stay with me tonight?"
Az couldn't believe the words that were said. His heart stopped and he looked at her in those beautiful eyes. "Are you sure?" He whispered back.
"Please."
"Okay." He breathed
