On March 9, 2023 Skyline Entertainment released a statement about the status of a member of current top boy group, AXIS. It was revealed that the group's maknae, Hugo, has ended his exclusive contract with the agency, thus concluding his activities as a member of the group. It was stated that this took place some time ago, but the agency waited to announce the news to respect the idol's privacy while he settles out of the group. The news came as a shock since the group just celebrated their 1 year anniversary 4 months ago.
The 8 member group, however will continue as an 8 piece act with the addition of a new member. Justice, born Jeom Bonhwa, will be joining the group as they prepare for a new mini album.

Justice, born in 2002 will be taking the place as the groups maknae, as well as donning the position of rapper, dancer, and vocalist. While through this news, it's confirmed that the group is preparing for a comeback with this new member, farther information on the album has yet to be revealed. Currently the groups fandom, COMET, is torn over the news. However only time will tell if they came warm up to the new addition.
