Just when I thought school couldn't get any worse, that frickening new kid comes with his jack ass smirks that I have seen enough. I don't want to go home just yet because of that dinner. The rest of my family is just going to fool more people. I bet my family is already getting ready, and painting the "perfect" family disguise on. I end up sitting in the yard of a abandoned house. One thing I love to do is to lay down outside and just look at the shapes of the clouds. Ha that one looks like a dick, I laugh to myself. The sound of my laugh, makes me feel different in a weird way because I barely hear it and when I do it sounds like a dying whale. I close my eyes and begin to drift off when I hear footsteps and feeling someone's shoulder against mine.
"You know your house is very close by." An Australian male voice says. I recognize the voice causing me to sit up and open my eyes to see that jack-ass smirk once again.
"Fuck off." I mumble
"Ouch, Someones feisty." He says, making claws with his hands. I find myself laughing. I mentally slap myself.
"I just don't want to go to that dinner ." he adds. I throw the thumbs up. I stand up and begin to walk away when I hear, "Now you're going to run to your perfect family. I knew the second I saw you that you were a stuck-up bitch with a perfect house, perfect life and a perfect family with no worries, loving every step of life."
"If only you knew." I say walking away and picking up my pace. Do I really seem like that? This shouldn't be affecting me but it is. If only he knew how fucked up my life is. When I walk through the door, my mom is waiting for me.
"Please, put on something formal and do your hair." She says checking herself in the mirror.
"Okay." I mumble walking into my room. I will let that boy think that of me, I will not have to worry about him. There is a soft knock on my door. Whoa, someone actually knocking, that's rare in my house. I open the door in response. It's just my mom, holding a bag.
"I got you a dress. I hope you like it." She says handing me the bag. I take the dress out. The dress is pure black, knee length, it makes a "x" in the back and it is one shoulder. It is so beautiful. I want to put it on. I pull my mom in a hug to both of our surprises.
"Thank you. Want to curl my hair?" I ask, It's the least I could do. I'm probably going to regret this.
"Yes." She says

I knew that wouldn't last, I'm guessing my mom put on the motherly act to get me to look like the perfect daughter she always wanted. I hate this dress. I hate how my mom used it against me and it makes me look to much like my family. The new family walks in and it seems like the new boy got dressed down. His sister, is absolutely gorgeous then his mother is decked in jewelry, his dad is wearing a suit and the new boy is wearing a tie. And I'm the one with the perfect family. The boy sits across from me and puts his hand out to shake my hand.
"Hey. The names Luke." the boy now defined as Luke says.
________________Luke's P.O.V———————————————
My theory is correct, that girl is everything I said.
"Audrey." She firmly says, took her long enough. When she releases my hand I see her scars. I automatically feel pain in my fresh cuts. I guess Audrey's and I's family have something in common - The are fake. Everyday my family paints the picture perfect family act but I'm the one to ruin it. I take my phone out and pretend to be texting. I want this dinner to be done.
"Luke." My mom says. I pretend to be to busy to be texting.
"Luke." My moms firmly says, I look up in response.
"Put your phone away."
"Nah." I say shaking my head and continue to use my phone. I hear Audrey laugh and her mother slapping her shoulder. Dinner is served, which is oddly good, Audrey asks to be excused. And with that, my family gets up saying that we should get going. I walk out the door, thanking for the dinner. I walk in the dark and 15 minutes later, I hear my family leaving Audrey's house. I could just run way without no one realizing and its not like anyone would care either . I'm glad I don't have to deal with Audrey. I look up to a lighted window and I see Audrey looking out at the stars, holding necklace. It looks like she's wishing on a shooting star. I look at the sky, to see a shooting the star, probably the very star Audrey is wishing on a star. I decide to make a wish,
I wish for the best thing for me.
