Trouble in Ninjago

The beginning [1]

~Lloyd POV~

I was standing in front of the mirror, that had a few cracks from when I got frustrated sometimes. I was worried about everyone. About the ninja. About the civilians of Ninjago. What will I do if I don't have the power to stop crimes and villains one day? What if one day my powers just... vanish... and never return..? I stood still, staring at myself in the reflection. I can't lose my power! But it feels as if it can disappear any second. I looked down and raised my hand up a bit. I bit my lip, waiting for my power to appear. I saw the green energy flowing as I moved my arm. It's okay. It's still here. But I was still worried, what if one day I lose them and never gain them back? I hummed for a second, stood still, the green energy slowly disappearing in my hand. I rested my arm. The more power I have, the less likely I am to lose my powers. I have an idea! The scroll of forbidden spinjitzu, but it was in a room where Master Wu would usually meditate and calm down. 'I hope he's not there' I thought to myself. I looked back up, not realising I was still facing the mirror. No! I can't steal the scroll!? What was I thinking? But a little peak wouldn't matter... right? All of a sudden, I heard Jay scream in excitement, as if something amazing had happened, as if he got some sort of news that there were no more villains in Ninjago... I glanced at the reflection of the mirror once more and ran out of my room.

~Kai POV~

I couldn't believe it! Cole was actually about to beat my record at the game! I thought nobody would ever be able to beat that spectacular record of mine, apart from me of course, but now? Woah! He was getting really close.

"Woah chill out, Cole!" I suddenly said, startling others. I could tell that I scared them since Cole shook very quickly and Jay... I wheezed. Jay jumped up as soon as I started to talk. I thought I also heard a pancake dropping in the kitchen, probably Zane heard me and also got startled.

"That's one less pancake for you, Kai" I heard Zane say. He was clearly annoyed, but he did chuckle when he saw Jay on the floor.

"That was not funny Kai!" Jay yelled in my face,  as soon as he got up.

"Yeah Kai!" Cole joined in. "I almost lost my brilliant score! Oops, talking about that, I BEAT YOUR RECORD!" Cole screeched in excitement, but then quickly returned to staring and concentrating on the game again.

"YAYY! YOU DID IT COLE!" Jay sat back on the couch, patting Cole's back to congratulate him. "Well done, buddy!" 

"Thanks, Jay" Cole replied.I heard really quick footsteps coming from the hallway, and so did Jay probably as he looked in the same direction. It was Lloyd. He came into the room and stood in silence. He had a confused look on his face. I was pretty confused too, why had everything and everyone gone silent suddenly?

"Hey guys, what's up?" Lloyd asked quickly as he looked at us.

"Nothing much, Cole beat my record in the game, that's it, but maybe we should be asking that question too? Why did you look so worried?" I replied, hopefully explaining things to him.

"Oh uh- nothing! I just heard Jay scream again and again, I thought something happened" he said to me, then glancing over at the tv screen and the mess in the room, then at the dropped pancake in the kitchen. I heard him whisper to himself, "oh god...".

"Lloyd, buddy, it's not that bad" I said to him in a quick tone, calming him down.

"UGH! Yes it is! I always have to clean up after you guys because you're all lazy pigs!" He talked back, pretty much shouting.

"Hey!" I turned and saw Jay staring at Lloyd deadly into the eyes. And then I even saw Cole slowly turning his head and narrowing his eyes at Lloyd.

"Guys, respectfully, infact, no." Lloyd began. "From now on, until I decide, you are going to clean up after yourselves and...and... uh," he hesitated, putting his hand to his chin.

"OH YEAH!? WHY DON'T YOU JUST MAKE US CLEAN UP THE WHOLE MONASTERY?" Jay screamed at Lloyd.

"Y'KNOW WHAT, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!" Lloyd had a smile on his face, reminding me of his father, Garmadon. But could it really be? Will Lloyd turn pure evil one day? I hoped not, I didn't want to fight one of my best friends. "Hey! Why don't you get started?" He continued, snapping me out of my thoughts. 

"And what if we don't want to, Mr Moody!?" Jay talked back, sounding proud. We all watched carefully as Lloyd slowly walked over to the tv, closer, and closer, and closer... 

"Wait, what are you-" Jay said in a worried tone, but before he could finish his sentence, Lloyd unplugged the tv. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!" Jay started yelling all of a sudden, jumping up from the couch. I looked over at Cole. He looked sad. No, upset. No, angry! "You're gonna pay for that Lloyd!" He shouted in anger, I could hear the pain in his voice. I knew he was worried about the fact that the game doesn't save the score if you just turn it off. Cole threw his controller at Lloyd. Thankfully, Lloyd dodged. I was worried about them both! I didn't want anyone getting hurt!  "Haha... this is really fun and all guys but, come on, it's not that big of a deal" I joined in. "Come on, break it up guys" I said again, a bit louder. Lloyd looked at me in anger, but so did Cole. And Jay just looked at me coldly, no not coldly, he was also upset about this situation. 

Out of nowhere, Cole charged at Lloyd. Thankfully , Lloyd dodged again. He then started using his power. The green energy started to flow around his arm, but just as he threw the energy at Cole, Master Wu and Nya came in. UH OH! This wasn't good! Cole quickly moved away to dodge the energy that Lloyd created. Lloyd had a worried look on his face, Cole was still angry. We were all staring at Master Wu, waiting for him to say something, anything! Then he quietly sighed, but didn't say anything. "Lloyd, I need to talk to you" He finally said, but completely ignoring the situation that just happened. 

"I- what's wrong Master?" Lloyd asked. Nya also looked upset. 

"I don't know if you would like the other ninja to hear this..." Master Wu said again. "It's something that you would probably rather keep a secret, so come with me" 

"But Master, if it's about this fight, it's okay! I can apologise!" Lloyd turned to face me, Cole and Jay and said, "I'm sorry guys... I don't know what got into me" I saw Jay smile a little. " We're sorry too, Lloyd" Jay replied. A smile also appeared on Master Wu's face. 

"That's very good Lloyd, but it's not about the fight, it's something that Nya, well... not Nya but," Master Wu paused for a second. "Someone, it's something that someone heard you say..." Something that Lloyd said? What did this mean? And who was this "someone". Then, my eyes narrowed and my mouth widened. Harumi. How could I forget that she lived with us right now? Lloyd could be in danger. Why didn't I think about him when we were playing the game! Now he's probably hurt, or got framed by Harumi! And it was my fault. I promised to take care of Lloyd and protect him no matter what.
