The Astronomic Tower

Remus fell asleep late. He was frustrated. Nobody in their dorm talked. Not really. James tried to make jokes and he even did a few pranks but no matter how hard he tried, nothing made Remus happier. Peter tried to boost his confidence and he would constantly tell Remus how smart and handsome he is. Remus didn't know how would that make him any happier but at least Pete tried.

Remus woke up early. It was 5 a.m. He didn't want to sleep anymore so he decided to go out on the school grounds. He didn't even take James's invisibility cloak because he felt like it didn't even matter if he got suspended.

He sat on the cold ground somewhere under the astronomic tower. He was watching the sunrise. It was beautiful he thought. That was the only reason why he wanted to stay in this world. The beautiful nature and Hogwarts. Mainly Hogwarts. Hogwarts were his home. Not in this moment when he felt seriously terrible but is still was his one and only home.

Sirius's pov:

Sirius woke up when the sun was rising. It was beautiful he thought. He stood up and found Remus's bed empty. He didn't care about where Remus is or what is he doing. He only had one thing in his mind in this moment. That thing was important to him. He had to do it. It was the only was how to get out of this insane pain.

He walked out of their dorm and quietly closed the door. He walked trough the whole castle and ended up on the astronomic tower. That was his goal. He leaned against the railing and looked town at the school grounds. The grass was beautifuly green and it looked like it was shining but that was probably just because of the rising sun. The Forbidden forest was quiet and dark. There was something like a fog coming out of the trees.

He looked at the sky for the last time. He knew it was the last time. It was terrible feeling knowing he will never see this beautiful sky, the Forbidden forest, the school grounds and the whole Hogwarts in general but he knew he had to do it. He knew that after he will do it, Remus will be finally happy again and that's what mattered to him.

The only thing that mattered to him was to make the love of his life happy again even if he had to take his own life and that's practically what he was planning to do now.

He leaned over the railing and looked directly down.

For a moment Sirius thought he saw someone sitting on the ground under the astronomic tower but that thought dissapeared.

Now or never.

That's what he thought when he let himself jump off the railing. He was flying trough the air. That's how it felt like. It was calming. And then he felt nothing. He didn't feel any pain. At first he thought he died but then he realized he was still alive. Someone or something caught him. Sirius slowly opened his eyes.

Remus's pov:

Remus was still sitting on the grass. He was getting bored but he didn't want to return to their dorm. He was pretty sure that James and Peter were still asleep.

He looked up at the sky. Beautiful sky. Remus was just looking at the clouds for a few minutes. And then when he wanted to get up and maybe go sit near the Black lake, he saw something flying in the air above him. It was really high above him. At first Remus thought that it's just some bird but then he recognized a body.

He acted quickly. He pulled out his wand and slowed down his fall. When the body stopped right before the ground, he recognized the face of that person. It was Sirius Black.

No this is not real. You're just dreaming wake up! I said wake up! Why would he even do that?

Suddenly tears filled his eyes. They started rolling down his face. He couldn't stop it but he didn't care.

A few moments ago he wanted to go to the lake and drown himself even tho there are beautiful things in this world that kept him alive but now when he saw Sirius almost commit suicide he wanted to stay strong for him. To stay alive for Sirius. He couldn't even imagine existing without Sirius.

Sirius opened his eyes and saw Remus standing there with tears rolling down his eyes. As soon as Remus saw Sirius open his eyes, he hugged him. It was the tightest hug these two ever had. Both of them were crying.

"I- I am- I am s- sorry." They both said.

Sirius was sorry for the prank he had done. For the prank that has ruined Remus's life and caused too many problems.  And Remus was sorry for not forgiving Sirius for what he had done, because Sirius is the person who he loves the most.
