The Prank

The Sleepless Night

Two weeks after the prank happened

Remus fell asleep. Everyone else in the dorm fell asleep way later but they tried not to wake Remus Lupin up. They were succesfull. Remus did in fact not wake up but he still didn't get good sleep. He woke up in the middle of the night. He was sweating and crying. He did not know why was he crying. He dried his tears and got up. He wasn't tired. He couldn't stand being in this quiet dorm when everyone was sleeping. The problem was actually not the dorm. He wanted out of his problems. He wanted to be friends with Sirius again. He wanted back the bond they had. He wanted out of his sadness. He decided to go out to breath some fresh air. 

Remus grabbed James's invisibility cloak and hid under it. He walked trough the cold and empty castle and stopped on the school grounds. He sat on the ground. He didn't care about the fact that he might get wet or dirty, he just wanted to rest for a bit. He needed to make sure about what he feels right now towards Sirius. 

Remus didn't know how to feel. He didn't know if he should be mad, upset or both. He was thinking about some other things for about one hour but then he decided to go back to the dorm. He was sure that he won't be able to fall asleep again. 

He walked trough the cold and empty castle once again. He opened the door to their dorm and saw something unexpected. "What are you doing?!" Asked Remus quietly, because he didn't want to wake up his two mates. Sirius was sitting on Remus's bad and he had his hand in his hands. Remus was sure that Sirius Black was crying. The black haired boy looked up when he heard Remus's question. He stopped crying as soon as he saw Remus standing in the door and instead he put on a light smile. "I thought you went to commit suicide." Sirius said happily, ignoring Remus's question. Remus didn't say anything.

He wanted to but there was the same feeling he felt a few weeks ago. He wanted to speak to him. He even wanted to forgive him for everything but a part of him just couldn't do it. That part of him that didn't want to forgive Sirius now wanted to yell at Sirius. But Remus didn't want to yell. The first reason why he didn't want to is because he didn't want to wake up James and Peter who were still sleeping and the second reason is because he liked Sirius. He realized it a few days ago but due to the prank that happened he thought he lost his interest in Sirius but just now he realized he didn't lose anything. 

He layed on his bed but he didn't realize that Sirius was still sitting on it. Sirius looked at him and immediately stood up. Sirius walked to his own bed and layed on it. A few moments later, both of them fell asleep.

James was the first to wake up in the morning. He woke up Remus and Peter. They got ready and then they went on breakfast. Remus felt kinda guilty, because they left Sirius who was still sleeping. He will probably oversleep. Remus thought.

They went to all of their lessons. Remus began being more active than two weeks before but it still wasn't as good as it was before the prank happened. 

After school James went flying and Peter thought it would be good idea to go with him but Remus didn't want to go with them so he stayed in their dorm alone. He didn't know where Sirius was but he didn't really care. 

Remus turned on the phonograph Pete brought here in the beggining of the year and decided on David Bowie record that he got for birthday.

Remus was just too tired of all the things that happened to him in the last few weeks, he didn't get enough sleep, he felt homesick, he talked with his friends only when it was neccesary and much much more had happened to him so he just fell asleep.
