Behind the Screen

You

Your eyes met with his. Your heart skipped a beat as you saw him in person for the first time.

His eyes widened as he looked at you, cheeks flushing a light pink. A small smile began making its way onto his face. His heart was fluttering in his chest. He finally gets to meet you in person.

"Ken, is it ok if I go over to say hi to Kei?"

"Go ahead. This is the first time you two have met in person, go enjoy it a bit."

You smile as you begin walking over to Tsukishima. "Hey, Kei."

His small smile stretched a little bigger. "Hey, Y/n. This is a nice little surprise. Why are you here?"

"Oh, well I told Ken that I didn't have any plans for break. And his team didn't have a manager... so I'm kinda filling in that position for this training camp. You'll be seeing me all week."

His pink cheeks got a shade darker. "I guess we'll be spending a bit of time together then."

The teams were staring in shock at the interaction.

You give a closed eye smile. "Of course! Good luck with your matches. I have to help Nekoma out now. See ya later." You wave to him as you start walking back over to your temporary team.

Tsukishima let's out a small sigh. "See you later, Y/n."

Sugawara was looking between Tsukishima and you. "That's Y/n?"

The lovestruck first year silently nods in response. His eyes are still focused on you.

Tanaka and Nishinoya look at their kouhai with wide eyes, jaws agape. "How'd you get so close to a girl that pretty?!"

Hinata giggled. "I told you! Y/n-chi is super pretty!"

For the entire day, you were all Tsukishima could focus on.

You, however, became busy with all of your Nekoma manager tasks. You found out that the teams at this training camp are much more of a handful than your own team back home. You felt exhausted after just the first day of this.

"Ken, you never told me how tiring your team and their friends are."

He continued playing on his psp, not daring to spare you a single glance. "I was worried you'd turn down the position if you knew."

Hinata beamed at you. "It's still awesome that you're actually here!"

You nod, then a thought suddenly comes to your mind. "Hey, Sho?"

"Yeah?"

"What's Kei usually like at school?"

The ginger hummed, taking a moment to gather all this thoughts about his teammate. "He's smart, but rude. And he doesn't seem to care a whole bunch about volleyball. He actually seemed totally against this training camp till he saw you when we got here."

Your face started heating up, turning a medium shade of pink. "Really? Does he usually hangout with anyone on your team?"

"Only Yamaguchi. He's the one with the green hair and freckles, he's one of the players that usually isn't on the court."

You nod, happily taking in this information. "Thanks. I'll go spend some time with Kei. I'll see you two tomorrow." You stood up and sprinted out of the room, searching for Tsukishima.

"Hey, cutie."

You pause, turning to see who would dare to say that. "Who are you?"

A group of guys appeared. You recognized them from the Karasuno team (Sugawara, Daichi, Asahi, Tanaka, and Nishinoya).

The shortest of the group (Nishinoya) stepped forward and smiled at you. "You really are beautiful. Bro, she might be prettier than Kiyoko."

Tanaka looked at his friend in shock. "No way. Kiyoko is a goddess. This girl is an angel as best."

You narrow your eyes. "Kei was right. You two are annoying."

Sugawara chuckled. "So you're Tsukishima's online friend. I'm his senpai, Sugawara Koushi. Nice to meet you. Hinata talks about you a lot."

You nod, taking a small step away to put more distance between you and these guys. "Yeah, Sho is fun to hang with. And Kei's great to talk to."

"Really? Tsukishima's good to talk to? Have you hit your head or something?"

Daichi smacked the two second years' heads. "Be nice. This is Tsukishima's friend, they probably have something in common."

Asahi smiled at you. "Hi. It's great that you and Tsukishima are friends. He seems happier whenever you two text."

You blush a bit at that statement. "Really?"

Sugawara nods. "He seemed bummed when he thought he wouldn't get time to talk to you with this training camp. He was almost distracted with how happy he was that you're here."

You felt your heart rate speed up. "Um... where is Kei? I kinda wanted to talk a bit."

"Then lets talk."

You whip around, coming face-to-face with the very boy you were talking about. "Kei."

He looked at you before staring at his senpai. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't bother Y/n."

You walked up to him. "Let's go talk."

"Sure."

You two left the building, walking out into the moonlit area outside the school.
