"No...please..." the voice was quiet, barely above a whisper but audible to Fyodor.
Two hours earlier Fyodor, who was working in his study when-
"Dos-kun! Dos-kun! Do you wanna see a magic trick?" a familiar energetic voice called out while slamming the door wide open.
The voice belonged to a tall Ukrainian male with two different colored eyes, both a beautiful shade of blue, his hair as white as snow, and a jester outfit that not just anybody could pull off. His name: Nikolai Gogol. That man was also Fyodor's lover
Fyodor turned around to face his lover with a slight grin on his face after seeing the familiar sight.
"Hm?" Fyodor hummed in response to Nikolai's joyful outburst.
"First riddle me this. What animal has four legs, two small ears, and is stereotypically referred to as loving cheese?" Nikolai said as took off his hat and held it closer to his chest waiting for an answer.
"Well, the last one gave it away," Nikolai gave a wide grin from ear to ear. God only knows how his face doesn't hurt when he smiles that wide.
"The only two obvious answers are a rat or a mouse, but a mouse doesn't sound like the appropriate answer... so I'm going to say a rat."
"That my good sir~," Nikolai said in a sing-song-type tone whole twirling his hat in his hand and then eventually putting his hand inside the hat. "Is correct!"
Nikolai carefully pulled his hand out of the hat to reveal two rats. Baby rats. Old enough to not need their mother, but not old enough to be called adults.
The smaller rat was pure white. It's silky white fur reflecting Nikolai's hair while the larger's fur reflected Fyodor's raven-black hair.
Nikolai walked closer to Fyodor cupping the tiny creatures carefully to not hurt them.
"Where did you find them?" Fyodor asked not taking his eyes off the precious creatures that were squirming and squeaking in Kolya's hands.
"Just outside. They were alone snuggled close together and since its cold outside so~ I decided to bring them in here where it was warm," Nikolai had a warm and gentle smile on his face. Despite his cruel tendency to kill innocent people the clown sure had the soft spot for animals. Fyodor thought it was one of the most beautiful things about him.
Fyodor took his ushanka, placed it on his desk, then got up, and then carefully took the babies out of Nikolai's hands. He then carefully laid them in the ushanka and wrapped them up with one of the flaps.
"Well, that was unexpected coming from you Dos-kun~," Nikolai teased.
"I still have a heart you know," Nikolai let out a small giggle. "Do you have time to cuddle?"
"You know I'm busy right now Kolya."
"Doing what though?! The war with the agency is over and Fukuchi is dead!" Nikolai started whining.
Fyodor sighed before answering "How about this...you sleep in my room and I'll be in there in a bit."Nikolai thought for a long second before shouting "Deal!" he hugged Fyodor and gave him a quick peck on the lips before teleporting to Fyodor's room which was received by a quiet chuckle from Fyodor.
Fyodor always questioned why he fell in love with the clown in the first place. They met when they were kids, both orphaned, and lived very different ways until they can into each other one day, and the pair had been inseparable ever since. Nikolai confessed first when they were nineteen. Fyodor already felt the same way but kept denying it over and over. He would brush it off as if it was just a
deep care for the boy that basically saves his life. That is...until Nikolai finally confessed that Fyodor realized the feelings he truly felt. A very deep caring, a will to protect the other, a deep trust, love. He loved Nikolai more than anything.Fyodor's room was right next to his study. Literally, the only thing separating the two rooms was a door that Fyodor had left open so Nikolai was happy, and nobody likes an unhappy Nikolai. Fyodor learned that the hard way which is why when they were kids Fyodor learned to compromise with him.
About an hour had passed before he heard it.
"No...please..." the voice was quiet, barely above a whisper but audible to Fyodor.
Fyodor decided to ignore it at first until heard it again, but this time louder, and there was more pain to the tone. Curious, Fyodor decided to go check up on Nikolai.
Nikolai had been plagued with nightmares since his parent's death and they hadn't been around in about six months.
Fyodor walked into the room to find Nikolai tossing and turning letting out a series of whimpers, cries, and groans. Fyodor walked over to the bed, sat down, and started to pet the white-haired male.
Good thing Nikolai was sensitive to touch because he had to. He lived in the streets for most of his childhood he had to be able to be sensitive to touch and able to sense danger just to survive.
He woke up almost immediately at the gentle touch of his lover. It took Nikolai a second to analyze the situation before he latched himself onto Fyodor.
"Hold on Kolya let me get situated first," Fyodor said chuckling a bit. Even though Nikolai was in distress at the moment Fyodor thought it was still cute how Nikolai would just cling onto him.
After Fyodor got situated, Nikolai sitting up watching of course waiting for his opportunity to cling onto him again. Fyodor analyzed Nikolai while get comfortable in the bed. Nikolai was half asleep, but still aware. His eyes looked like they were going to close at any second. Fyodor thought that Nikolai was the cutest when tired.
Fyodor soon got comfy and Nikolai saw his opportunity so, therefore, he clung to Fyodor for dear life almost.
Fyodor started to pet the anxious body underneath him that was shaking.
"It's okay now. I'm here now. You can get some rest,"
"Thank...you.." Nikolai mumbled into Fyodor's chest.
A few minutes went by and Fyodor thought that Nikolai had fallen asleep again until heard Nikolai mumble something.
"I love you...Dos-kun.." The ending of the sentence was about at a whisper.
"I love you too Kolya."
Fyodor waited as he felt the clown go limp underneath him fast asleep. Time passed and Fyodor finally fell asleep as well.
Hope you enjoyed that it took me a while. I'm taking request also!
