"So, y'all ain't talked?" Ja asked Jaren, pouring himself a shot. "Sound like somebody mad."
Jaren shrugged. "We talked but like barely. Shit gettin' on my nerves."
Two weeks had gone by and Jaren hadn't seen Rielle one time throughout the course of them. They'd been texting back and forth but it was just a 'How are you' and 'I love you'. Nothing more than that.
Jaren was confused and he wasn't too sure if they were still mad at each other. He had just been in the gym and sleeping and she had been working and studying. They weren't doing much to busy themselves but they weren't doing much to try and see one another either.
Rielle couldn't stop thinking about it, to be honest. She hasn't slept in the same bed with her boyfriend in 2 weeks and she wasn't able to get their current hiccup from her mind. She didn't want to complain about because it was childish, but she was having a long week.
"Aye, I gotta tell you something." Ja said.
"What?"
"You know I been fucking on KaCynthia." Ja said, a smirk prominent on his face. "For like a cool lil' minute now."
Jaren looked at Ja for a moment before looking away. "I know."
"What?"
Ja put the bottle of liquor back, deciding he didn't want to be drunk today. He was only gonna take two shots to take the edge off and that's exactly what he did.
"Rielle saw your phone at Cyn's crib." Jaren commented. "And a few weeks after she saw your car."
"Damn." Ja thought for a moment, wanting to get under Jaren's skin. "She really is smart."
Jaren gave Ja a straight face. "Fuck up."
"I just needed to say something about me and Cyn cause she 'bout to come by here and pick something up." Ja explained. "And ya' girlfriend more than likely gone be wit' her."
He shrugged, not sure what to make of that.
It wasn't like Jaren didn't want to see his girlfriend. He missed her beyond words and wanted to see her very badly. Rielle just hadn't been texting him much, giving the illusion that she didn't want to be reached.
That couldn't have been further from the truth because she happened to want to see him as well. Her reasoning for her slow texts back were a result of Cyn telling her not to come off as clingy.
That in itself was unfamiliar territory because she and Jaren spent a lot of time together. So going from that to not seeing him for a full week was strange and made her a little uncomfortable.
"Rielle know y'all fucking."
"Nah." Ja shook his head. "I mean, she prolly do. She just ain't said nothing to Cynthia about knowing yet so I ain't sweating it. I don't care who know but KaCynthia seem to care."
Jaren sighed, checking his phone. "When they coming?"
"Should be here in a minute." Ja said. "I don't think they staying but to be honest, they probably will."
At that point it wasn't a matter of if he would speak, because he was going to, he just wasn't sure what to say. His house had been done being renovated a few days ago and at this point they were inadvertently avoiding each other.
Was he mad at her for insinuating that he could break up with her to go have sex with whoever? Maybe, because didn't that show that she didn't fully trust him?
Was Rielle annoyed that Jaren wouldn't just forget that she had said that already? A little but she was trying to be understanding. She had said something very unfair and her Mom helped her to realize that.
