Phayu's turn

Rain and his parents were having dinner at his grandparent's house. They were talking about something boring if you asked Rain, but then he wouldn't have known considering he was preoccupied with messaging P'Phayu. 

Rain was usually very talkative, so it was weird when he didn't speak, especially to his family who had known him since he was in diapers.

His Dad Tharn looked at him and said ''Rain at least you can put you're phone down while we eat'' but Rain was so focused on his phone that he didn't hear.

''Rain, Rain'' His Dad kept calling his name but no answer.

His Pa Type was getting annoyed whit his son so he stood up and smack him on the head.

''Ouch'' Rain looked up at his Pa and whined ''Pa, what was that for''

''First of all, we agreed on no phone during dinner'' Taype said annoyed, and continued ''and what is so interesting on it that you are lost to the real world''

Rain slightly panicked and said in high pitched voice ''It's nothing''

''Mmh'' Type walked back to his sit ''Are you sure''

''Yes'' Rain said quickly his voice getting louder and louder.

''Well if it's nothing then you won't have a problem showing us, would you Rain'' His Dad Tharn asked whit a smirk.

''No'' Rain answered anxiously ''It's nothing important, just some architecture staff that will be boring to you''

Not that Rain didn't want to inform his family about Phayu - quite the opposite - but both of his parents were protective. He was aware that he might be naïve, so he understood why they were being protective. Even so, he was worried that they wouldn't accept him, and he was even more concerned because if his parents learned about his family, they would undoubtedly make him end his relationship with the love of his life, and Rain wasn't sure if he would be able to live on without him.

''I didn't know being interested in things my son love is not important'' Type said jokingly, but made it sound like he was hurt ''fine if you don't want to –''

Seeing his Pa hurt made Rain fill guilty so decided to tell them the truth, ''I was talking with one of the seniors from my faculty'' at least part of it.

''Really now'' this time his aunt Thany added

''Yes''

''Are you sure, it isn't maybe a lover '' Grandpa teased

''I don't buy it, are you talking with that girl you like'' Type asked ''But didn't you say she was the same year as you''

Rain was confused, who was he Pa talking about ''Pa who are you talking about''

''You know that girl whose brother Is in the fourth year and you came to me for flirting advice'' Type said remembering how embarrassed Rain was asking for it ''What was her name, was it something o P – P –''

''Are you talking about Ple'' Rain cut him of

''Oh yeah, that was her name. So?'' Type

''So what'' Rain asked

''So are you talking or maybe dating her, finely'' Type said ''After all you have liked her since the first day of freshmen year, right?''

''No'' Rain started ''I mean yes'' He was confusing himself

''Son calm down and then tell us what you mean by that '' Tharn said calmly

''Pa you are right about me liking here in the past, but not anymore so we aren't dating or anything really we are just friends now. Plus she never liked me like that'' Rain explained

''So who did you talk to on the phone then'' Tharn

''I told you to a senior''

''Is this senior just a senior or is it something more'' Grandma asked

Rain knew he couldn't keep lying to them so he as quietly as he could said ''No''.

Nobody could hear him, not even his uncle Thonr who was sitting next to him. His dad asked ''Could you repeat''

''I said No, he isn't only my senior''

''Then who is He to you'' Tharn

''My boyfriend'' Rain said quietly, but loud enough to be heard.

''You're what'' Tharn asked in disbelief

''Boyfriend'' Rain repeated nervously

''You have a boyfriend'' Tharn tried to process the new information. He knew one day Rain would find someone, and he hoped he found someone who would love him the way he loves Type. But Rain was so youn-

The table was quiet when Tharn spoke ''but you're only 19''

''So? Weren't you and Pa my age when you got together'' Rain

''That's different''

''How so''

Tharn tried to find an excuse but failed ''It's not important how. Rain you are too young to be dating anyone''

''What you expect me to way till I'm like 30, how's that fair? When you two were at that age already married'' Rain argued

''Rain I said No''

''But –''

''Enough'' Type interrupted, turned to his husband, and took his hand ''Tharn, you know I love our son as much as you do and I would do everything for him, but shielding and hiding him from the world won't do him any good''

Tharn sigh. Type was right and he knew that ''I know that, but I only want best for Rain''

''I know, so why don't we stop you two from shouting at each other and Rain invites him for a dinner next Friday.''

''Really'' Rain said excitedly ''Can I'' Taype nodded

''Okey'' Rain stood up, when Type asked him ''Where are you going''

''I'm going to call P'Phayu''

Type laugh ''Sit down, we are still eating.''

Rain chuckled and nodded. ''So Phayu? Is that his name?''

Rain nodded.

The rest of the dinner went smoothly.

When they got home Rain hurried to his room and called P'Phayu. After three rings Phayu picks up. Phayu was about to greet him when Rain excitedly called his name. He told Phayu about everything that happened, and Phayu was more than glad to accept the dinner invitation.

''It's gonna be okay'' Type said. Seeing Tharn so lost in his thoughts was rare, but when he was it usually had something to do about someone he cared about.

''What'' Tharn

''Came on, you're way too lost in you're on thoughts''

''I'm not''

Type looked at him and said ''Mmhh''

''I'm just worried, what if he got hurt or worse''

''Nothing gonna happen to him''

''You can't know that, what if he breaks his heart''

''Then we will be here to help him get over him''

Tharn open his mouth to say something, but Type cut him off and said ''Stop, he's not gonna go through what you or I went through. We are gonna made sure of that''

Tharn sighed ''How do you always know sain what I'm thinking''

''Well I have been married for over 20 years now'' Taype said sarcastically

Soon after they both fall asleep.
