The Marauders Story- 1971-72

The Speech

Remus, fifth birthday was fast approaching and Hope, he and Lyall had put on their sunday best as Lyall had another important speech to do, it was february twenty ninth 1960 and Lyall was earning a very high income, and had organised a private tutor for remus to come and educate him starting in the september of this year.

This speech was going to be the most important one yet and because of that both Hope and Lyall brought very special guests.

Lyall had brought:

his brothers; Edward and george.

Edward was also bringing his wife Samantha and their eldest daughter Eliose who is ten and her little brother Eddie who is eight.

his sister Cassandra and her fiance, Michael.

his uncle stephan and his wife, Sarah.

His father Joseph and his wife, Mary.

his grandfather Louis and his wife, Edwina.

Lastly from Lyall's side was his best friend, John, and his wife, ella.

Hope had brought;

her father Alfred and his wife, Jenifere.

her uncle Marcus.

her uncle Devin and his wife, Anna.

her aunty edith, her first born girl, mary, her first born son, andrew, and her husband, jackson.

Her aunty Isabelle with her husband, Michael.

Her uncle rodrick

Her grandfather Justin and his wife Astoria

Her other grandfather, George.

And lastly her best friend, Zoë, along with her husband, Eric.

When all the guests were seated on their practical side of the stage with three rows by six in order on the right side of the stage, it was ordered by youngest at the front and eldest at the back, this was Lyall's guests on the left side of the stage was Hope's guest along with Hope and Remus themselves, there were four rows by five with the youngest at the front and the eldest at the back, as well.

Suddenly the crowd grew still and had an earily silence as Lyall walked with his shoulders back and head held high to the middle of the stage to deliver this very important speech.

"I would like to start today by thanking all of you who could make it today, but there are a few very important guests who i would like to thank for very specific reasons, Firstly i would like to thank my mother, Mary, and my father, Joseph, who have inspired me to do what is best for us and have supported me from the very start even when i didn't know what i was doing." Lyall beckoned them forward and handed them flowers.

"I'd like to thank my dear wife, Hope, for sticking with me for as long as I can remember." Hope walked forward and received flowers. She kissed Lyall on the cheek then sat back in her seat.

"And lastly i'd like to thank my little boy, Remus, who without even knowing it has been the reason that i continue to preceded with what i'm doing because every time i look at him i remind myself that this is all going to pay off and that my little boy and his children will live in a safe world without the fear of half-breeds attacking them." Remus went forward and graciously accepted his gift; a pack of little trains, a cards deck and best of all his favourite chocolate bar.

Remus sat in his seat again and turned to his mum who nodded her head and pressed a single finger over her lips, Remus understood immediately he needed to be quiet.
