You walk through the doors to Ellie's house happy to go give your girlfriend her birthday present.

Hearing a bang upstairs you roll your eyes knowing she probably tripped over that gun Jesse had got her, walking into her room with a smile on your face. 

"Y/n I-" Ellie says using the blankets to cover herself and cat. "Oh really?! With your ex!" you yell dropping the gift glaring at her.

"Get the fuck out cat." You say and she tries to protest but you cut her off with a deadly glare.

She quickly grabs her clothes and gets out the room, you close your eyes trying to keep your composure.

"El, why?"

"Y/n babe-"

"Not babe, just y/n."

"Listen y/n I'm sorry it was a mistake." She says looking at you through her eyelashes you walk towards her and take a deep breath.

And slap her, "you piece of shit!" You yell at her. "The only mistake was dating you."

She stand up and looks at you, "you don't mean that." "I mean every damn. Word."

Ellie's cheek has a red hand print on the side of her face, and yet here she is still trying to reason with you.

"You slept with you ex! If you didn't wanna be with me you could've said something anything!"

"I want you y/n, I need you." She says putting your foreheads together but you push away.

"You want to be alone?"

"Be alone."

You walk out the room leaving Ellie looking at the present on the ground she picks it up and looks inside only to find a note and a engagement ring.

You were going to propose, you wanted to spend the rest of your life with Ellie, now you couldn't even stand her.

She looks at the note and reads it,

Ellie, my love

I know once I leave and you see this ring your gonna go try to find me and say 'yes!' But spare me the embarrassment of my horrible writing and we can pretend we went to Paris or something (never gonna happen 1. Cuz infected who wants that on their honey moon?)  and I proposed there, please say that you love me as much as I love you and that I'm not some complete and utter dork.
We've known each other so long I feel like I couldn't last a day without you, you are my reason my purpose

Ellie puts down the letter and looks at the ring, "damnit." She says shutting her eyes as she watches you walk away through the window.

She was never gonna be able to hold you again because of her stupid actions.
