Sorry, again, for the long times between chapters. I get caught up in reading other people's books😬. Anyone surprised when they read about what Michael did? What a jerk right?

Anyway, thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy this!

"Awww," Gabby and I sighed in unison. I could practically hear Brett's eyes roll at this.

We are currently watching Pride and Prejudice (against Brett's will or course) and have just witnessed Darcy's second proposal. *sigh* It's just so perfect!

Brett doesn't seem too amused, however, and has gotten up to get more popcorn, mumbling complaints under his breath. Gabby and I just look at each other and laugh, knowing he's just over exaggerating (secretly he loves this stuff).

He waits until the movie has ended before sitting back down next to me- a fresh batch of popcorn in hand. "So what shall we watch next, Gabby? Sense and sensibility?" I say, grabbing a handful of Brett's popcorn and earning a playful glare.

"We could watch the Notebook!" Gabby exclaims with mock enthusiasm, knowing all too well I'm just trying to get under Brett's skin with all the gooey, love stuff. It seems to be working because he lets out an annoyed groan before getting up and opening the movie drawer under the TV in Gabby's den. He pulls out the Avengers and pops it in before we can say anything.

"Now this is more like it!" He says, easing back into his seat and putting his arm around my shoulder casually. I just roll my eyes," fine. But only if I get some more popcorn." I reach into his bowl and take a ginormous handful and stuff it in my mouth. We all laugh at my piggish eating behavior and turn our attention to the movie.

About halfway through, Gabby nudges my arm. When I turn to look at her, she signals to Brett's arm that's still around my shoulder. His fingers had begun to absently twirl around the ends of my hair towards the third scene, and I didn't really think anything of it until Gabby gave me one of her looks that said HELLO! FLIRT ALERT! I just rolled my eyes though and shook my head, mouthing the words not going to happen before turning back to the movie. I adjust my position on the couch so that I'm not leaning up against Brett quite so much.

We watched the rest of the movie without saying much of anything else. We all laughed at the funny parts, and Gabby and I both made girly comments about Chris Evans and how gorgeous he was- after all, we are still girls.

The movie ends and we collectively groan because this means we have to stand up and leave. I slide down the front of the couch, stretching out on the floor and flopping into an awkward- yet strangely comfortable- position against the couch. " ugh, I have to go home. I have piano in the morning." I complain. Brett chuckles in response before helping me up off the floor with one big yank. I wobble slightly due to my body not being used to standing, and he grabs my waist to steady me. I become extremely aware of his hands being where they are, and even though he retracts them naturally like nothing happened, I can't help but notice Gabby's smug look. My cheeks burn and I cover my face with my hair to conceal it. The last thing I need is more boy issues.

"Well thanks for inviting me Gabs," I say. I lean in and give her a tight squeeze before turning around to grab my purse and keys.

"Yea, thanks Gabby. You guys are fun." Brett gives Gabby a side hug and opens the door for me. "After you madam"

"Oh how sweet. Chivalry really isn't dead. " I say this too soon though because I trip on his outstretched foot a millisecond later- barely keeping upright. "Just writhing on the floor with a gag over its mouth," I state with a sarcastic grin. He shoots me one back and we head outside.
