The first week of school drug on way too slowly for my liking. After the third lecture about respect and turning papers in on time, I was ready for Friday. Thank goodness it has finally come.

I sit up as I hear the bell ring for my last period, choir, to be let out and I quickly grab my stuff and hop off the risers. I meet Gabby in the commons, and we walk to my car which happens to be parked next to an extremely familiar red Jeep...

Oh no...

I make a mad dash for my Impala but am cut short by a huge roadblock who just happens to be Michael. I slowly look up only to be met with that same pitiful expression as the day we broke up. I clear my throat, looking away from his penetrating gaze. I mumble an 'excuse me' before attempting to move past him, but he steps in front of me.

I don't say anything. Why should I? He was the one who betrayed my trust. It wasn't my fault that our relationship ended. As much as I wanted to explain this to him though, words refuse to escape my mouth. We simply stand there for about three minutes before Gabby (who had stopped to talk with Masey at her car) storms up, pushes Michael out of the way and grabs my hand. She drags me along until we get to my car, where she sighs and says," ugh! He can't quite get the message can he?" She then motions for me to throw her the keys because she gets to drive my car on Friday's.

Oh Friday, thank you for coming.

"I don't know Gab," I whine. "It's fall. Don't you think it's a little chilly for shorts and a tank top?"

I look at myself in the mirror, scowling at the outfit she has selected for me to wear to the football game tonight.

"Oh quit your complaining, you look hot! Plus, just because school started doesn't mean it's FALL. There is still three weeks left of summer and I fully intend to take advantage of this fashion opportunity!" Gabby demands as she applies a fresh coat of nail polish to her left hand.

This fashion experience as she calls it, hardly counts as clothes in my book. I'm wearing a cut-off Newsboys shirt that's braided in the back (thanks to Gabby's mad skills with a sewing machine it looks kinda cool) and shorts that reach to about mid-thigh. I feel naked and I'm not sure I can go out in public like this.

I groan in annoyance as she spins me around to fix my hair quickly. She brushes it out and pulls a few pieces back before securing them with a bobby pin. It actually looks kinda cute. I hear Gabby's brother honk a horn outside and she grabs her stuff. She is riding with him and his girlfriend Michelle (cutest couple ever) and I'm going to meet her at the game.

"What, no hug?" I say, pretending to look hurt. I regret it though as I am soon tackled onto my bed by my best friend. After being smothered for several seconds, she lets go before giving me a proper hug and bounding out the door. "Love you!"

"Love you too, butthole." I grumble, rubbing my arm where she landed on me.

I glance at the clock and realize I also have to be heading out, so I grab a jacket (so I can feel a little better about this outfit) and head downstairs to wait for my parents. I'm riding with them to the game because my dad insists that taking two cars is a waste of gas. I'm not complaining though, because I pay for my gas which means I get a free ride.

My parents and I meet at the door and we all head out.

Time for some Wildcat football!

The game was great! We beat the home team 28-0 and I had a blast! I missed high school football games. Gabby and I enjoy watching the boys kick butt, and it's a great time to catch up with people you didn't talk to over the summer.
