Narcissa was fine, totally okay, and ready for her wedding. She had time to reflect in her chamber in the dead silence. The wedding guest and court members had arrived and Narcissa was greeting them. It was just simple "Hello, it's my honour to meet you," and "Yes, thank you for coming". It became such a repeat that she was bored and tired. Narcissa was sent away to a separate chamber, meaning the ceremony was going to start soon. She was being watched by guards and little Khione was standing in front of Narcissa. Khione wore a white dress to her feet and it was also laced with golden lining to match the wedding's theme.

Narissa was not thrilled that her new stepdaughter was the flower girl but at least Khione would be useful for something other than being a spoiled brat, Narcissa thought. Then, Narcissa overheard two maidens by the corner whispering and giggling.

"I can't believe Leopold is getting married, especially after his older brother was assassinated---"

"Shhh!" the other maid hissed, quietly laughing. "Don't speak ill of the dead!"

"Do you think Queen Narcissa knows about the murder?" the first servant asked, a smirk forming.

"Of course not! That git knows nothing!" the second one said. "She's so silly to marry King Leopold, I heard the rumours. Narcissa was once an ugly, ugly woman, but changed her appearance to 'capture the king'---"

"That's Queen Narcissa to you, stupid maids!" Narcissa snapped, shocking the two. "To let you know, I was born pretty and I will die pretty,"

Narcissa scoffed at the two girls, reminding herself to remember to order their death after the wedding.

"M-Mother," Khione stammered, "why are you yelling?"

"Because some people in the Kingdom of Gwendolyn have no sense of respect!" Narcissa huffed, lightly pushing Khione away from her. "Now, you're stepping on my gown. The wedding will start soon, do you have your flower basket?"

"Yes, m-mother," Khione replied. Narcissa glared at her, marvelling at Khione's beauty. Suddenly, the doors opened and Khione started walking towards the alter. To Narcissa's surprise, everyone was suddenly amused and awed by Khione's beauty as she skipped toward the altar. Khione gently sprinkled petals and the crowd chuckled. Now it was Narcissa's turn. She started to walk, keeping her composure straight.

She tried not to glance but she didn't have to. Everyone was too busy looking at Khione to notice the actual bride. Narcissa's cheeks became red as she stood face-to-face with King Leopold. The priest said his part and it came down to the "I do"s.

"King Leopold Adam White, do you take Narcissa Grimhilde Ingrid as your wife?"

"I do,"

"And do you, Lady Narcissa Grimhilde Ingrid, take King Leopold Adam White as your husband?"

"I do," Narcissa said, trying her best not to smile like a fool.

"Do you two have rings?" the priest asked, and I widened my eyes. She hadn't even asked Leopold that! Leopold brought out a small box and revealed two simple rings. They weren't regal in any way but Narcissa didn't care too much.

"Here, you go, darlin'," Leopold whispered, slipping the ring on Narcissa's finger. It fit like a bug. Narcissa was about to smile when he noticed Leopold had the wedding ring and both the ring of his marriage before. Khione's birth mother.

"Are you doing?" Narcissa hissed under her breath. The guests and court members looked around, puzzled.

"I shall wear both, Narcissa," Leopold said, turning to the priest.

"You two are now wed..."

Narcissa didn't bother to listen to the rest of the nonsense and glared at the king's finger. The ring of Khione's mother, Eva, had a much bigger diamond than hers. The truth was, Narcissa didn't care about if the ring was more fancy or not, but she was furiously bothered by the fact he decided to wear both rings. Leopold promised he was over the death of his wife and said he loved Narcissa with his whole heart. But was he lying, and some of Leopold's heart still belonged to the dead Queen Eva?

Narcissa was also angry at the fact he decided to ridicule her in front of Gwendolyn's lords and ladies! She knew they were laughing behind her back. Narcissa thought in the horror at what they were saying. "Oh, Leopold doesn't love her!" or "He decided to wear both rings?!" and most definitely "Narcissa was a fool to marry him anyway!"

Narcissa had to agree sometimes. Leopold's older brother, Erva, was killed ten years ago. Erva did not have any heirs at the time so the throne went to Leopold, who married Lady Eva. It was sketchy, most people said so, and that's why it was so hard for Leopold to find a new suitor to marry. Narcissa gulped and pretended she made the right choice...marrying Leopold and being part of Khione's life forever...
