Online post from [REMOVED]. Original poster named Catherine [PRIVATE]. Subject titled "Dear Journal ▽・x・▽".
The original poster attempted to initialize a communication ritual. Most communication rituals contain several risks, as the host [may] have no control over which spirits are hosted. Rituals such as these contain a large complexity range; easier rituals allow for the summon of 1 star spirits that answer trivial questions and more complex rituals allow an individual to summon any high ranked demons in order to answer more complicated questions. In some cases, communication rituals may evolve into contracting rituals. With every communication ritual, there are certain requirements that need to be met in order to provide the host with maximum security. There needs to at least be a Will, a security measure, an Initiative, and a Gift. A Will is a reason as to why the individual must be contacting the spirit. A stronger will leads to contact with higher ranking spirits. An Initiative starts the ritual. Better quality Initiatives allow for a more controlled ritual. Initiatives range from chalk to candles. Gifts are given to spirits as a price for their aid. Higher ranked spirits require higher quality Gifts (i.e. live sacrifices) while lower ranked spirits may allow for smaller Gifts, such as a sweet. Security measures may include an experienced friend, salt, or holy water.
In this case, Catherine [PRIVATE] and Courtney [PRIVATE] attempted to summon a low-ranking spirit (estimated to be 2-3 stars). However, during the summon, either Courtney or Catherine displayed a corrupted Will concentrated enough to summon a 1 star demon.
Sealer Sarah Botch, rank F in Division 5-G, and June Appert, rank C in Division 3-G, will be appointed to this case.
