Chapter 1
We're all different. We all struggle in different ways. Maybe that's why we became close, became a group. We all have someone we don't like, or people who don't support us in some way, whether that's your parents, friends, or just the people around us. But the only thing that matters is the support systems you can create to help yourself, to grow as a person. But how can I grow when my dad will not support me in my passion, art.
I closed my diary, I picked up writing as a way to vent about my problems. I chucked my diary in a hidden place just so my dad and my brother, Akito, wouldn't be able to read it. Things have been extremely difficult recently. School, my home life, even making music with my friends was difficult. Oh right, my friends. I have three online friends, I don't know their names, but we all make music together and post it online. Their online names are; K, Yuki and Amia, together we make Nightcord at 25:00. What do we all do in the group, well K makes the music, Yuki writes the lyrics, Amia makes the music videos and I make am the illustrator.
I rose from my seat, I looked at all the discarded artwork that littered my desk. It wasn't good enough. My father is an artist so how can I not do what he can. How do I not get the recognition that he does? It isn't fair. Finally, I stepped out of my room, heading to the kitchen to grab a drink before having to go to sleep. My thought of jealousy clouded my mind, putting me in a state of hatred. All my efforts of getting recognition never worked. It wasn't fair, I post my face online and make music but i'm nothing compared to everyone else.
I stepped into my bedroom and fell onto my bed. Am I not good enough? Was my only thought. My friends were very talented and I felt left behind, that I wasn't good enough. Before any other thoughts could cloud my mind, everything went blank, finally falling into a deep sleep.
Kanade's POV:
I sat at my desk, making music, like my dad used to before he was put in hospital. Everything was different these days. I live alone, I don't go out much. The only people I spoke to often were my online friends, Amia, Yuki and Enanan. It was midnight. An empty cup of ramen sits on my desk next to me. My headphones played the song I just created. I listened carefully to ensure everything sounded correct before sending it into the file me and my friends use. That's when I hear the chatroom ping, someone had entered the call.
"Hi Hi!" An energetic voice spoke, it was Amia. Her brightness always lightening up the world around me. That was the best thing about my friends, we all have our own way of helping, even if we never notice that we help each other.
"Hello Amia." I say back. My voice calm and low, like normal.
"I finished the music video for the song you sent me! I'll put it into the file." Amia stated, the file being uploaded to me within seconds of her speaking.
"Thank you Amia." I say, gladly watching it to see what it was like. The sound of someone else entering the call, alerted both me and Amia.
"Yuki, heyyyy!" Amia said excitedly. Her happiness always bringing some comfort to us all.
"Hi Amia, hi K." Yuki said back, her voice calm and a little upbeat.
"Hi Yuki. You should be asleep, you have school in the morning." I stated, concern lacing my voice.
"I finished the lyrics, I'll send them now." Yuki stated as she sent the lyrics over to me. We were normally this efficient since most of us were in night school except for Yuki. The only person I needed something from now was Ennan.
"Has anyone heard from Ennan?" I ask, wondering if she's said something to Amia or Yuki.
Hey!!! I finally got Web of Mistrust to a somewhat good start after so long of trying to actually write this book. Please enjoy because I will be trying to write on this one just like my other book "Lost in her eyes." But I can't promise much since college will get in the way. Anyway enjoy :D
