Well, it's Saturday morning and even at nine thirty, the whole of Einstein hall was still asleep. That is, of course, those that remained on campus. Every weekend, students of Norway are allowed to leave the grounds from Friday to return on Sunday. That's the only free time we get in here. And well, Norway Prep is a school for everyone, so we've got different sorta humans. Most of which are crazy. Oh well, the peace and quiet was so rare, it made me smile internally. But.. it wasn't entirely quiet though. While walking through the hallway, different kinds of snores kept infiltrating my ears, but then, given as it was either this or unbearable noise,so, I wholeheartedly accepted the snores.
Anyways, I was going over to Orlando hall to see the guys. I had ignored them all through yesterday so I have to see them. Orlando hall wasn't so far from Einstein hall so in a jiffy, I was in. Unlike my hall, people here we're awake and bustling. I noticed most were in the laundry room. If I told you that majority of the humans in Einstein hall do not know how to operate the washing machine, would you believe it? No, right? But that's exactly how it is. They're just a bunch of crazy ass idiots with little to no sense of reasoning.
I got into the elevator and rode straight up the third floor. Hopefully those fools are up else they're gonna be rudely awoken from their slumber. Hehe.
Getting to dorm 319 which was theirs, I knocked softly on the door. First time, no response. Second time, same. Third time, same. That's it. The next thing, I was banging the door and before long, the door was opened.
"Good morning sunshine" I greeted with a sweet smile.
"You're so lucky." He drawled. "I came here to murder the human that was ruining my sleep." He rubbed his eyes with the back of his palm.
"Won't you invite me in?"
"Yeah sure come in."
"Merci" he moved from the doorway and I got into the room. Fair enough, I thought while looking around the room. The last time I came here, the room looked no less to a dumpster, but, I made sure they cleaned it up. By blackmail of course.
"Kayla,"
I whipped my head to the other side of the room where Jace laid on the single bed. That part of the room was a calm blue while the part where I stood was dark gray.
"Yup" I answered him.
"Where were you last night?" He questioned.
"Good morning to you too. My night was splendid. Thanks for asking." I replied with pure sarcasm. Seriously, is that a way to say good morning? He rolled his eyes. "Anyways, Last night, I was taking a walk around the field. And yeah, Jennie said you came."
"Point is, why have you been avoiding us?" Jace stood up and walked towards me with folded arms, and for some reason, Dylan did the exact same thing.
"Me? Avoid you guys? Pfft!" I waved my hand in obvious innocence pretence. But... I had to get serious because the guys were.
"Kay." Dylan said my name.
"Fine. You guys wanna know? Sure. I'll tell." I rested both my hands on my hips. "I was avoiding you both."
"Well why?" Jace pressed on.
"What do you expect? I'm being pushed aside because my two best friends now decide to hang out with the cool kids instead of me. Do you both seriously expect me to just tag along like some lost puppy seeking attention? Like seriously?" I finally burst out. Well, both Jace and Dylan looked somewhat confused.
"Really?"
"Of course not. I'm simply kidding." Came my sarcastic retort. Of course I felt left out. For two weeks Jace and Dylan haven't had time for anything we usually do together. It's either basketball with the summits or it's a study gathering with the same set of people. It honestly reached its climax when they ditched me for a Friday night party with the same people last Friday. I mean, for Christ's sake, we spend our Friday nights together at the arcade not too far from the school and head back together as none of us actually go home until the holidays but last Friday, I waited outside Orlando hall for an hour but these two didn't come out. I got fed up and went right in only to find that they had earlier left with the summits. Honestly, I was pained to the gut.
"But, how? I mean, when?" Dylan asked with his ever innocent voice.
"Did you say when? Well, it's been exactly two weeks since you both started jilting just because of those idiots. Ow the heck did you both expect me to feel, huh? And now you're asking why I'm avoiding you. Could either of you give me one reason why I shouldn't? Of course not." I harrumphed and turned my back to them. The atmosphere was tense but at this point I couldn't just bring myself to give a damn.
When the guys kept quiet for ten minutes, I had reached my peak.
"You know what?" I looked at the both of them concurrently. "I'm outta here" I made to leave but one of them held my hand. I turned back to see that it was Jace. "Let me go." I demanded.
"You can't just leave."
"But you can?"
Jace sighed.
"It's just," he paused, obviously finding words to convey his thoughts. Normally, he didn't have to search for words as I could always understand him without needing words but at this moment, I was all out. My emotions were all over the place. He exhaled. "Thing is, we've been together for so long and we can't just break apart now. I guess what I'm trynna say is," he paused again. "I'm sorry. We're sorry. We should never have made you feel that way."
To be honest, I was hurt. Like madly hurt. But then again, Jace apologizing? I've only ever seen him do that once. And that was when his mum died and he blamed himself for not being able to save her. The glare I had on my face melted slowly.
"Yes Kay. We're sorry. Please don't be mad at us." Dylan spoke. Right now, both boys were looking at me with expectant looks. I considered the odds and frankly, I'm not sure I've got the balls to live without these guys.
"Alright fine. But if I'm ever ditched because of that pack of rogue idiots, trust me, I'll murder the both of you." I warned while pointing at them. They both nodded like soaked puppies who finally got a roof over their heads. "Anyways," I walked to Jace's bed and dropped myself on it. "Since it's Saturday, we should go have fun."
"Ummm...." Dylan was rubbing the back of his neck. He does that mostly when he's nervous about something.
"What's wrong Dylan?" I asked him with a slightly annoyed look. Okay let's be honest, it was more of a death glare.
"Actually," Jace intervened. "Michael invited us to a party down the street."
"Did he?"
"Yeah. But you can totally come along. You're with us."
The glare softened.
"Alright, I'll come. This will be your chances to make up for Friday night."
"Of course."
I got up from the bed.
"I'll be on my way. I'm pretty famished and would like something to eat. You both take a shower and clean up your room. Probably even do your laundry. Alright?" Jace, as I expected, rolled his eyes. He has never been one for cleaning up. Dylan on the other hand nodded obediently. "Adeos amigos" I waved at them before leaving the room. For some reason, the stairs suddenly seemed more appealing than the elevator Soni took the stairs. Who knew I was just gonna end up with regrets. As I walked down the tiled stairs, my headphones were in place and music was penetrating through my eardrums. My eyes were closed as usual when I'm listening to music then it happened. I bumped into a human. Gosh, I thought. I opened my eyes to meet the dagger shooting glare of Michael. The summit of summits. He's like the gang leader of the other summits. Arrogant. Proud. Egoistic. Narcissistic. All his traits. Of course, when you take out the aspect of physical looks though. Oh well, I bumped into him. If I knew I would have to encounter someone on the stairs, let alone a summit, I would have steered clear but I didn't know so here we are. Just perfect.
