You take Gale to your bedroom, showing her to your computer. You had a plethora of tabs open, each one containing an article or piece of information on Ghostface. "Wow, you've done a lot of research i see." Gale says, observing each tab, when she notices a tab with an orange W logo, "Hey what's that ta-" "Don't worry about that tab." you say, swiftly closing it.
"So what can you tell me?" Gale ask, walking over to your computer. "Well, he knows I'm a fan of horror movies as well. he attacked me, but i managed to stab him with a shard of glass." "Good, now he can be easily identified. Now all we need to do is find a guy with an injured hand."
"How tall would you say he was?" "Uhm, about 5'10"." your estimate height was probably off but honestly, his height wasn't your focus at the time, i mean he was trying to hurt you. "My other theory is that i was just a first victim, every horror movie has one. like Billy Lenz or Michael Myers or Jason or-"
"I get your point. but I don't think you were the first victim..." "Huh?" "Three days ago, a lady was found dead at outside of her friend's house, her car reported missing. Her friend was reluctant to giving an interview, but she eventually came forward. she stated that they were supposed to be watching horror move that night." Gale made her way over to your bedroom window.
"The police were trying to cover it up, but i just knew that Ghostface was back." she rest her head on the wall. "How do you suppose we stop him? i don't have any close friends or anything so i can't know the killer." "Damn it."
"Well there is one way to better to find out who it is." you state, "And that is?" "Watch the movies based on the murders. He's clearly an obsessed fan of Billy Loomis and His method of murder, but he couldn't have been around for the actual murders, he would have to experience it through the (not completely accurate) films. so maybe we can watch the movies and see what clues we can gather." "Eh, I'd rather not, i wrote the books."
"You what?!!" you were completely shocked, nothing in the articles you read mentioned anything about her being the author to the books that the stab films were based on. "See? I told you those articles were opinionated, they always leave out the good stuff about me."
"Interesti-" your sentence was interrupted by the sound of indistinct ringing, it was the landline in the kitchen. surely enough, you get up to answer. "[NAME]! WAIT, DON'T PICK UP THE PHON-!"
"Hello?"
"Hi, you must be [FULL NAME]"
"Wow, word get's around fast I see."
"I'm Shawn ___(yes a self insert🥱). you may not know me but i have to talk to you, in person." you look up at gale, "Don't trust her!" she mouthed, pushing you to hang up the phone.
"Why?" you ask, hoping to get some intel
"You know that girl that died last week outside of her friend's house? I'm the friend. I didn't tell anyone but... Ghostface attacked me too..."
You stood there shocked by the statement, you were getting kinda hungry, fast food was on your mind
(Speaking of fast food, check out my other Fanfic, 'Jack in the box x reader'.
i probably give the most cringe fic advertisements but hey
Ignoring the grumbling in your stomach, you continue the conversation
"I was hoping we could meet up at the park sometime Tomorrow."
"Eh, sure."
the phone hangs up. "Why the hell would you trust her?! she's clearly just another Ghostface trying to lure you in for attack!" Gale shouts as if she's yelling at a television, Scolding a horror movie protagonist for going in a basement.
"Didn't you interview her? it should be safe." "Yes, but she gave me very little information, and she never told me her name. Ghostface always has a partner, she could be the one." You look outside the kitchen window, seeing how the sun was almost covered by the trees in your neighbors' yards. it was getting late.
"I've got to go. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T PICK UP THE PHONE." Gale walks out of the house, scribbling her little notepad. she was clearly keeping note of the events.
After hours of searching, you finally find the stab films for free on an illegal website, being that you didn't have the money for those expensive streaming services. "Finally. now all i need to do is find my HDMI cord( the thing that connects the computer to the TV). after a little bit of rambling through your stuff, you find the cord, hooking it up.
The movie was set, the night was cold, and the action commenced. even though the movie was based on real murders, you couldn't help but watch it as if it was a regular horror movie, you even brought your usual snacks.
As you watched the actress playing the late Casey Becker, a shiver ran down your spine. she was just trying to watch a scary movie with her boyfriend and next thing you know, she's hanging from a tree.
You watched her step into the shower, removing her robe and revealing her pale, soft skin. "The articles didn't say anything about her taking a shower, this is clearly just unnecessary nudity. but that also means he could be planning to attack me in the shower."
Suddenly a phone begins to ring, making your heart skip a several beats. The naked woman steps back out of the shower, answering the phone, "Hello?" she ask. what a relief, it's just the movie.
The actor playing Ghostface taunts her over the phone, causing her fear and frustration. she eventually run out of the house, Ghostface trailing close behind her. fear pumped through your heart as you watched him chase Casey. You wanted to turn it off. horror movies were never really scary to you, but the simple thought that this could actually happen to made you sick to the stomach
Michael Myers and Jason are just something that wouldn't really happen. Haddonfield nor Crystal lake were real places, plus Michael was unnaturally invincible, he should have died in this first Halloween film. And Jason would have never happened because people don't just come back from the dead.
But Ghostface... he was different. this wasn't just some demon haunting your dreams like Freddy Krueger, or the soul of a serial killer trapped in a dolls body like chucky. this was real life. it was a real human being, infatuated with horror movies( like myself). someone with an infatuation so severe that they would kill someone. and it could be someone you know, someone you trust, it could even be you.
And I'm speaking from the perspective of real life. if someone really loved 'SCREAM' enough, they would kill someone to prove their loyalty as a fan of the film. but let's get back on topic
You try to stop daydreaming about death and focus on the events of the film, trying see if anything in the film offset the articles. You can't help but close your eyes and rest your on the couch. The ringing starts once again, but you ignore it, assuming that it was just a scene in the film.
But the ringing, it sounded so close, so real, like it was coming from behind you. you open your eyes, realizing that the ringing was real. it was the kitchen phone again. you stare at it, anticipating. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T PICK UP THE PHONE the words rang in your head over and over, but would you listen to Gale, an experienced victim to the scream murders???....
