Chapter 4

Saturday had arrived.

I kind of didn't want it to be here already.

I wasn't too sure of how to feel about this blind lunch date I had been set up on. I know that I shouldn't make a big deal out of it, but it kind of annoyed me that I literally knew nothing about the guy. I know that's how blind dates work, but I liked knowing things about people.

Gosh, I am so not a people person right now.

Zara meant well setting me upon this, I know that, but I was still pissed at her for making it happen as well. I mean, I could have gone out with her and we could have met new people at a club or a bar or someplace like that, but this happened instead.

It was currently 10:30 in the morning, and I was getting ready.

I really shouldn't make a big deal about it, I thought to myself as I put my clothes on. Zara had picked out my high waisted black jeans, with a three quarter sleeved red top that had white around the neckline, teamed with some black ankle boots and a black bowler hat. I was actually quite impressed at the outfit she had chosen. I put on some foundation to cover up old acne scars that I had on my face, a bit of eyeliner, and a nice red lipstick, and tried to tame the bunch of curls on top of my head, but realized that would not work, and that the hat would hide the mess anyway. Heading out of the bathroom, I headed in to the living room and sat down on the couch, switching on the TV to watch some more FRIENDS before my date got here.

No longer than ten minutes had passed before I heard someone knocking at the door. Sighing, I got off the couch and walked to the door, opening it as I heard Zara enter the room behind me.

Standing behind the door was a guy, and I assumed it was Seth. I must admit, I was kind of taken aback at how good looking he was. Easily over six foot three in height, he had black hair that was styled in an upwards direction, but it didn't look ridiculous or unnatural. He had extremely blue eyes that looked legitimately like the oceans in Fiji, and tanned skin that looked like he was of some foreign background. I also noticed that he had a small silver ring going through the right side of his nose, and I smiled at that. Nose rings on guys were a major turn on for me. I looked him in the eyes and smiled at him.

"Hi, I'm Seth. Your....what should we call it.... Blind date? Yes, I'll call it that," he said with a small smile. I returned the smile and spoke.

"Hi, I'm Ella, and yes, blind date works well. I've actually been calling it that all week," I laughed. He smiled back at me and I noticed he had a dimple in his right cheek, and I mentally noted how attractive it was.

"So are you guys actually going to head our or just hover in our doorway all day?" I heard from behind me, and I turned to scowl at Zara.

"We're leaving now, Zar. I'll bring her back safely, I promise. Only with minor cuts and bruises," he winked at Zara, a playful tone in his voice. I heard her chuckle lightly, and, walking out the door, I waved at her with my face still towards outside. I followed Seth to his black car, and was slightly surprised when he opened the door for me. I noted that he was a gentleman. That was definitely a plus, in my books. Closing the door once I got in, he made his way to the driver's side and started the car. The radio came on, and the first thing I heard was a Fall Out Boy song. I couldn't help but hum along to the beat of it. I feel eyes on me, and know that Seth is looking at me, so I stop humming and turn my attention to him.
