Chapter 5
When I arrived home that afternoon, around about 6pm, Zara was nowhere to be seen. Deciding I was cold, I went to my room and changed into my trackies, before heading back to the living room and lounging on the couch and watching Transformers. Just as the movie was ending, I glanced at the time, only to see that it was still early, only 8:45pm, and decided to watch the next one in the series. I must have dozed off, because when I woke up, it was close to midnight and the T.V was off, I had a blanket over me, and the room was dark, except from the light coming from the end of the hall. As the T.V was off and I had a blanket over me, I assumed that Zara was home, and, stretching as I got up, I made my way down the hall towards our rooms. I was right about her being home; her bedroom door was open and her light was on, showing her thin figure sitting on the bed in a pair of red pants and a black top. I knocked on her door to get her attention, as she had her eyes closed and her headphones in, and her eyes opened immediately as I knocked, looking around a bit before landing on me in her doorway. She smiled slightly at me, her smile very tired as her eyes started drooping closed again.
"Hey, you're awake," she said to me, to which I nodded, finding my eyes slightly drooping as well, as we both struggled to stay awake.
"Yeah, must have fallen asleep watching Transformers. Didn't realize I was that tired," I said back, to which she nodded.
"Yeah, you were out when I got home around 10, so must have been pretty tired," was all she said as I watched her eyes basically fall closed. I laughed to myself at the way she shook herself to try and stay awake.
"Zara, go to sleep. I'm going to, and I promise I'll tell you all about my date tomorrow," I said, hoping it would slightly persuade the stubborn girl in front of me to go to sleep. I expected her to argue with me and have me tell her everything that had happened, but what I did not expect was for her to nod yet again, and slide under her covers, and say a slight "Goodnight, Ella,'' to me and fall asleep in an instant. I made my way out of her doorway, switching off her light as I headed in to my room, falling on the bed and falling asleep straight away.

Next morning, I woke up around seven to get ready for work. My first day at my new office. I was really excited, to say the least. I loved my job, and the people I worked with, even though not all of the ones I had made friends with had been transferred to London like I had. After showering and drying my hair, I dressed myself in a black knee length pencil skirt and black button up blouse, topping it with a grey blazer and white scarf to try and keep myself warm out in the cold London air. Throwing on a pair of black wedges no higher than two inches tall, I went out in to the kitchen and made myself some quick breakfast. By the time I was ready to leave, Zara still wasn't awake, so I decided to write her a note, even though she probably knew where I was going today.
Zara,
I'm off to my first day at my new office (JUST A BT EXCITED) and should be home around 5, so may even beat you home if you go to work today. I'll tell you all about yesterday at tea tonight, which we are cooking, because we need to stop spending so much money on dining out.
Much love,
Ella xx
Heading out the door and hopping in my car, I made my way down to the office, only to arrive about ten minutes early, and made my way inside after finding a parking space. As I made my way inside, I mentally gave out a small cheer, telling myself that I had succeeded and had managed to get a great job after university, which I was extremely grateful for.
