~ Owen's POV ~

"Dad, dad let's go!" Benji said, pulling on our dads arm.

"Hold on now! We have to wait for your siblings." My dad, dressed up in one of his causal suits (the ones we doesn't wear to court).

Benji pointed at me. "Owen's ready! Let's go, let's go!"

I was laying back on the couch, hands tucked under my head. Looking like I had no care in the world.

Not true.

Ever since last week, the events of that morning have been playing in my head.

Delilah. Elliott...fucking Kyle.

I shook those thoughts out of my head.

I wasn't going to be pissy Owen today, I was going to be big brother Owen.

Today wasn't even about me, or Benji.

It was about Hunter, it was his 8th birthday. Andre and Nina, his parents, are throwing him a big ass party as per usual.

All the Anderson were invited, only a few are going.

Luke? Nah. He, quote, "has better things to do, like go on dates and play basketball."

Liam? No as well. Him, Charlotte and Penelope are going somewhere out of town. All I'll say is I feel for Penny, being the third wheel can suck.

I know now, from Carrie and Brent.

Eric? Can't make it of course. I swear he works more than dad sometimes. I've barely seen him since- fuck since summer even started. I fucking miss my brother.

Xander? Obviously no.

That just leaves me and Carrie, who's taking a long fucking time to get ready. More so than usual.

"Your sister is coming with Benj, we'll leave as soon as she comes down."

"I don't wanna be late! I wanna see Hunter!" He bounced, making his dark blonde curly locks go everywhere.

"Relax Benjamin," I called him by his first name, a thing no one does. Seriously, not even grandma or dad ever do.

It's probably because he hates the name, mom gave it to him.

For the year she was around, that's what she called him. Besides her, only new teachers call him by his full name. Even then he corrects them immediately.

He snapped his gaze to me, his ocean blue eyes meeting my dull blue ones. "It's not like we aren't always late anyways."

That's the truth. If more than two or three Andersons are going somewhere, people know we're likely late. It's just how are family is.

He frowned. "Not my fault! I'm always ready."

I laughed. "Benj, it takes fifteen minutes to convince you to get up for school every morning."

"Well- uh it's because it's too early!"

"Says the boy who still gets nap time." I mumbled.
