EMERALD

Jesus fucking christ, I should be better than this.

After Aaron showed us that security camera footage I knew that it should have been the first thing I looked into after their death, but I thought nothing would be on those cameras. I'm a dumbass, apparently.

We left soon after seeing the footage, knowing that it was no real breakthrough because we still didn't know who the person was. There was no real significance to it so Harry and I just decided to leave and get on with our "vacation."

I say "vacation" because it really isn't a vacation. Staying in a random location with Harry for 3 days wasn't exactly how I wanted to spend my long weekend off.

Don't get me wrong, being alone with Harry has its perks. Like his tongue, fingers, and dick, but that's about where it caps off for me.

For some reason he has been just ticking me off recently. Everytime he opens his mouth it pisses me off. You know when you're just in a bad mood for no reason and everyone around you is making you mad? That's how I feel.

Growing up my parents always taught me that love wasn't real and anyone who said they loved me was lying and trying to manipulate me. So, I closed off everyone who said they loved me, besides my sister.

When someone gets close, I shut them out. I don't want people to know my weaknesses. If I don't have anyone really close to me then no one will know my weaknesses and they can't hurt me.

It's simple. Harry is trying to get close with me and I don't want him to. For some reason I kind of care about him because he's grown on me and is my friend, but anything past that is a big no no. I don't want to be a real couple with him. I don't want the stupid sappy emotions and "love."

Having to fake it is already hard enough and apparently I don't even do that well enough. Which is why I'm here.

With the help of Harry I climbed up into the helicopter and pulled the Tiffany blue leash along with me to get Athena to jump up with me.

It was a pretty basic helicopter, 2 seats in the front for the pilot and co-pilot and three seats in the back. I sat down on the bench seat next to Harry with Athena sitting on the floor while we waited for one of the attendants of the airline to grab the kennel we had to use for the dog.

"So, there might be a tiny little bit of a hiccup."

I rolled my eyes, "What did you do?"

"My mom accidentally fucked up when booking the helicopter and the size of it. The kennel takes up two seats and there isn't enough room to put it on the floor, mostly because it has to be strapped down. Which means-"

"There's only one seat for the two of us." I cut him off in realization.

"Yep."

"Great." I sighed, getting up from the seat when I saw the attendant carrying the kennel come towards us.

Of course he has to ruin this.

I helped the attendant strap down the kennel to make this move a little faster and whisked Athena inside. I undid her leash and tucked it into my purse. We've done kennel training with Athena so it's no problem at all. Although, she's never been in a helicopter so we don't really know how this is going to go.

They slid the metal door shut and realization came and realization hit me. I have to sit on Harry's lap for only God knows how long. I don't even know where we're going or how long it's going to take so I can't do a little count down in my head.

"Come on, Emaline, we're going to be taking off soon."

With a defeated look I climbed into Harry's lap with my back to the wall so I could lean against it and keep an eye on my dog. One of his arms went around my back and rested on my waist while the other sat on my legs.
