Wrong love

Chapter 5

Nifemi was happy to go to school everyday because of her new best friend they became so close that they never kept any secrets although   bola was a Muslim but her mum was a Christian so they heard no problem in relating with each other  but there was a problem that somehow affected Nifemi in school she always fails mathematics or sometimes just manages to score average. Her teacher as invited her mom in several occasions to talk to her about her daughter in her performances in class when it comes to mathematics. Nifemi’s mom was always sad and tried to talk to her and get a math teacher for  her to  get her prepared for common entrance next year . At that time Nifemi was already in grade five and was moving to grade six next year so her mom had to make her ready and prepare her well for her final class in primary school.

After months of preparing she was promoted to grade six and common entrance was fast approaching . The school organized Saturday lessons for six graders because of the forthcoming exams. Nifemi did her best to read her books so she could pass and meet the cut off mark or even pass it well so that her daddy might fulfill his promise to take her for swimming classes during the holiday. So she tried her best to read and study , go for Saturday lessons and practice mathematics especially .
Finally the week came when they were to do the examination the teachers told them to come to school on Saturday by 8 :30 sharp to commence the exam . Nifemi wasn’t afraid knowing fully well that she has studied .The day  came and all the students were gathered at 8:30 sharp to start the exam her and Bola were placed in the same hall but different seats the invigilator didn’t want any familiarity between the students so they were separated from their friends . The exam started immediately and the whole hall was silent this was the first time Nifemi would experience this and she was able to concentrate on her work . It was that very day the results came out, few hours after the exam . The invigilator said that if their results her not found with them that means they failed the exam . Nifemi was so scared but when the teacher entered the class Bola told her that her result was the first on the list  , she was so happy but she wasn’t so sure until truly the invigilator called her name first and called her to collect her results . As she stood up the other students clapped their hands celebrating her but her best friend’s was the loudest though . When she got back to her sit she laughed and looked backed at her friend and caught her laughing then Bola whispered and said “ I told you” Nifemi smiled and said “thank you”.
