When eight PM finally rolled around and night had set in Nathan and I walked out of the Rivers home and across the concrete motor court to Nathan's seemingly low slung vehicle compared to Payton's lifted Dodge Ram that had been moved to parked next to the Chiron.

"Your car is low to the ground" I tease and he stares at me for a moment.

"And still you love being in it" he retorts with that signature smirk.

"Absolutely I do" I say and Nathan nods as if to say exactly.

We then got into the car and just as quickly he started the car and backed away from the garage before driving away towards the gate while the engine behind us rumbled.

"Where are we going, back to New York or?" I ask.

"The Four Seasons in Washington I booked a Presidential Suite for us" Nathan replies.

"Of course you did" I say as he stopped just past the gate before pulling out and accelerating well into a hundred miles an hour.

The drive wasn't long, though Nathan did have the persisting habit of driving a lot faster then he should, but that was also who he was he did things quickly and safely. He was also willing to be casual about every encounter he had like the few times police have been next to him and just to get a laugh out of them he'll start dancing to the Bad Boys theme at a red light.

We both had outgrown being on street bikes and racing them now both him and I drag raced supercars down Fifth Avenue at two in the morning.

Nearly an hour later Nathan pulled up to the front door of the Four Seasons Hotel and slowed to a stop parallel to the door before getting out of the car and looking around as he often did to seem like he couldn't give a shit if anyone saw him park here. Though he did, and wasn't particularly a fan of having attention on him which was completely fair to me since being under impending spotlight all hours of the day could be stressful.

I then got out and both of us walked into the lobby as he locked the vehicle all the while hotel staff watched us approach the front desk and stop before they acknowledged us.

"Good evening what can we do for you?" the receptionist asks looking between Nathan and I.

"I booked a Presidential Suite for two, and four Deluxe Suites, to be reserved under the name Nathanial Winters".

The Receptionist then turned back to the screen and typed in a few things before turning back to Nathan and I.

"Yes I have you here for one night, and prepaid. Is there anything else I can do for either of you" he asks and Nathan shakes his head no.

"That will be all thank you, just the keycard, the four coming in after me will be the ones who need those four keycards for the deluxe suites".

He then proceeds to take it and walk away towards the elevator for us to go up to our floor. When the doors opened again we quickly found our room and walked inside before I watched Nathan fall onto the bed crumpling the surface of the bed and let out a sigh.

"You look tired mi amor" I say and he just nods before pushing himself up.

"I need to shower before going to bed though" Nathan says walking over to me and kissing my forehead which always has brought a flicker of a smile to my lips simply based on how gentle he is when he does it.

"You're free to join if you wish, if not I'll leave you plenty of water" he says and walks into the bathroom closing the door behind him and not long after the water turned on.

Going over to the side of the bed that I wanted I took out my phone and set it down along with my purse on one of the chairs before going to the window to look out at Washington DC.

Deciding I'd join Nathan I walked away from the window and to the door before knocking.

"Come in" he calls and I slip into the bathroom before I hear a showerhead turn on. "There now you have hot water".

I then undressed and got in beside him before he took the sole bottle he wanted and left the rest to me as he washed his hair.

Only Nathan would turn away to give me space.

It wasn't uncommon for us to watch a series and shit talk the characters about certain behaviours. We also had talked about how some of the kids we'd gone to school with were either assholes, or had class which was an interesting conversation since Nathan included himself on that list as an asshole because of all the fights he got in and how he had some bad habits he hasn't resorted back to since then.

At some point he turned around and looked at me and I looked at him as a mischievous look crossed his face before he reached up and scooped some of the bubbles off the top of my head and drew a smiley face on my stomach with complete focus to make it look perfect and I couldn't help but laugh.

"You just went from twenty-five to ten in five seconds" I tease as he rinses the rest off of his hands.

"I can't be serious all the damn time, I sit in meetings all day and talk about money, it's boring. So I come home and feel at peace with you" Nathan says raising his hand to the side of my face and holding it in his hand.

"Sure it's not just because you're in your penthouse feeling invincible" I muse and he cracks a smile.

"That penthouse didn't feel like a home until you laid in my bed, and cuddled into me every night for the past seven years" he replies and I have to stop myself from smiling like and idiot as I rinse away the last of the soap in my hair.

"Don't flirt with me" I say, "you'll make me believe things".

"I'm being honest, I'm making you believe those things because you know I can't lie to you Arilynn".

My heart.

I then stare up at him and in the gentlest way he stepped towards me or I let him pull me towards him I don't know but either way he leaned down and gently pressed his lips to mine.

"There is my promise of always and forever mi amor" his magmatic voice reverbs towards me and I don't stop myself from leaning forward resting my head on his chest.

"Remember all those years ago where you said you weren't perfect but you said you'd do your best?" I ask looking up at him and he nods.

"I told you that when asking you to be my girlfriend while we lay in your bed at the sorority house you shared with Sarah, and Natalia".

"You were perfect then, and I didn't want you to know that because I hoped one day you'd see it for yourself. I learned that you would never view yourself as perfect and then I understood why. No matter how confident you were you were willing to accept everything about yourself, and you hoped that I would too. Well, you're perfect for me and will be even when we're both old and look like pale raisins" I say and he just shakes his head.

"You will be all I every want in beauty, love, and generosity Miss Hamilton" Nathan remarks.

"Good, because I hope to be the best you will have".

"You have long surpassed that, love. You've been the standard for years".

This brings a smile to my lips and once again Nathan leans down and kisses me as water falls over us, filling the space with steam and heat that seemed to cocoon us in the porcelain space.
