But one normal day, Emiko's whole life changed.
Emiko and Sayaka decided to walk through the sakura forests in Tokyo, Emiko was still mad with Sayaka, so her sister was hoping that they could get to know each other better. But Sayaka bumped into a friend and Emiko decided to stand against the Sakura tree that was beside them, not too close, not too far. However in those few minutes Sayaka and her friend where talking, Junko Enoshima spotted Emiko.
Junko Enoshima was a 15 year old supermodel, but she had a second life. She created the Despairs. But what is 'Despairs'?
Junko walked up to Emiko, standing beside her.
"Hey." Junko said
"Huh?" Emiko said surprised, she was only 8, why would some random teenage girl talk to her.
"Isn't that a famous idol over their, are you waiting to meet her?" Junko said with a smile
"Who even are you?" Emiko asked.
"Me? You seriously haven't seen me before?" Junko asked back.
"I'm 8." She replied
"I'm a model" Junko replied "Your not ugly, why don't you become a model?"
"Because my sister is already the famous one." Said Emiko
"Your a Maizono?"
"Mhm." Emiko said with zero interest.
"But your parents would be proud to have two famous daughters" Junko said
"No." Said Emiko "They would kill me."
"That's not true-"
"I'm not joking."
"Are your parents... Hurting you in any way." Junko assumed
"Hurting?" Emiko repeated
"I'm sorry, was I wrong?"
"No." said Emiko
"I think I can help you." Junko said looking at Emiko
"I don't need help."
"Are you sure?" Junko began, "Your just going to let your parents do that to you? Let your sister be the most loved? Not being able to fight back?"
Emiko stayed silent.
"Here, its a phone, since your only 8 right now, you will have to wait." Junko said as she brought out a phone from her pocket. "When's your birthday?"
"April 4th." she answered.
"Yikes! So you'll have to wait." said Junko. "A few days after your birthday, expect a call from me, my name, Junko Enoshima is already saved."
"What's the day today?" Emiko asked
"3rd of May." Junko replied
The 3rd of May 2013. Since that day, Emiko never forgot that day, that conversation, that date never left Emiko's mind. She didn't know it then, But her whole future got crushed right in front of her eyes.
Two days after Emiko's 9th birthday, Junko called. She asked for her to come to a certain address, that was around a 20 minute walk. Sayaka agreed to take her, and so she did. They met Junko outside a fairly big house, but Sayaka couldn't come with her, and since Junko was a model, Sayaka wasn't afraid of letting Emiko be around her without supervision.
Junko and Emiko walked to a secret location, where Junko taught her all about the Despairs, and what Emiko would learn to do. She would be able to defend and attack for herself as well as many other army-related skills. But the most important rule was that she could not tell anyone.
