"so, you're helping out with them now?" jiwoon asks the girl, and she nodded silently.

heiran looked down and noticed something she just had to question, "what's that around your ankle?"

jiwoon looked down as well and gulped, "nothing.."

"that's not nothing, jiwoon. that looks like a..."

the boy let out a heavy sigh, "he's tracking me down."

the girl widened her eyes, "it has a tracker in it as well?! jiwoon, we have to take this off!"

"we can't!"

heiran looked up at him, "jiwoon...one wrong move and you could be dead."

"i don't care, heiran. i deserve it anyways, and you can't say otherwise." jiwoon said and stopped heiran from going near his ankle.

heiran moved back and her eyes shifted to the ground.

hyunjin got out of the bathroom and went back towards the kitchen, wanting something to eat since he was getting quite hungry.

he then saw his phone on the counter and grabbed it. he checked his notifications and to his dismay, he had several missed calls from his mother. he panicked and immediately called her back, and fortunately she answered.

"mom? i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to ignore you or anything i was—"

"get home now, hyunjin." his mom interrupted, and he started to panic even more.

"y-you're not mad, right..? i was just—"

"come home." was all that hyunjin heard before his mother hung up the phone.

he silently cursed himself before he barged into minho's room, the older looking confused as fuck.

"hyunjin?" minho spoke out while watching the younger go through his closet suddenly.

"may i borrow a hoodie? i have to go back to my mom's for a bit, sorry." hyunjin said while grabbing a random hoodie and putting it on quickly.

"i mean, yeah sure—you're wearing one of my t-shirts already but when will you be back because we were all planning on going out to dinner tonight."

"i don't know, we go back to school next week so my mom might want me back at her place." hyunjin said with a shrug and closed the closet.

"if i don't come back, do you want this hoodie back?" he asked, and minho shook his head.

"keep it if you want."

hyunjin just nodded before rushing out the door and heading to this mom's house.

once he arrived, he knocked on the door and opened it after hearing someone saying come in. although, he was confused as the voice he heard did not sound like his mom.

he opened the door and suddenly froze.

"yeji..?" he mumbled as he saw the girl in front of him, smiling.

"hey, brother." the girl replied with a nervous smile.

hyunjin ran up to his sister in shock and hugged her, "i don't understand. you're back?"

"i finished my college classes, so i decided to visit you and mom. how's high school treating you?" she asks, and hyunjin couldn't help his tears from falling.

"high school has been good so far, i met these awesome people." he told, and yeji smiled even bigger.

"that's good for you bro! so, tell me, any girlfriend yet?"

hyunjin chuckled, "no, not yet. haven't found the right one."

"aw, that's alright! focus on your studies first and be like me, smart! okay?"

"yeah yeah, whatever." hyunjin said, sarcastically rolling his eyes and nudging past his sister.

"where's mom?"

"she's in her room, she fell asleep."

"are you kidding? she was the one who told me to come home!" hyunjin complained.

"yeah, because i'm here."

"oh.."

"gosh, you're still dumb." yeji teased, and hyunjin playfully hit her shoulder.

"whatever, i've gotten smarter throughout the past years of you being gone."

"are you saying my absence helped you get smarter?!"

"if you think about it like that, then sure!"

yeji rolled her eyes and sat down on the couch, hyunjin following her. she turned on the tv and they both watched the screen, until yeji said something.

"father broke out, right?"

hyunjin froze for a moment before replying, "y-yeah...i don't know where he is."

"he hasn't came for you?"

"no.."
