The Alpha and His Pup

Teddy

I was floating happily in the darkness drifting in and out of consciousness and having a pretty weird dream. First of all I'd been skipping down a white road that never seemed to end and a man had walked up to me. He was all in black and was tightly gripping leads of puppies with horrible chain collars around their necks. I grimaced as he yanked the leads and the puppies choked, so I asked if I could have one. He told me that I would regret my decision as he walked away and naturally I was completely weirded out and tried to run. But my feet were stuck to the road.

Then one of the puppies broke free and bounded back towards me. it was completely white and actually looked pretty cute. I held out my hand to pet it, until it showed me its fangs and started trying to eat my leg. I walked  it on the head in an attempt to knock it out. But it just fell to the ground looking bewildered, and I was on the verge of literally screaming when it shifted into White

And suddenly White was kissing me, and it felt pretty good he tasted sweet (no surprise there) and I lost myself in the deep kiss......and woke up. Directly above me, his red eyes stared down at me.

I sat up hard and head butted him. He kinda fell back on his but and gave me the puppy eyes. No way am I falling for that, with my new found voice ( I'd finally gotten rid of my toddler voice) I began chewing him out. 'What is wrong with you, we barely know each other and that was my first kiss. You should only do that with the person you love'. I looked down at him and was startled, White's eyes held so much pain. 'Teddy I do love you, I think you make me feel things that I haven't felt before. At least not things I feel for anyone else' he replied in a low voice. 'You almost remind me of someone I used to know very long ago, she was just like you, but she died because of me and I promise to become better, please stay with me Teddy'. White stroked my cheek with his fingers but I pushed them away.' I......don't know what to say' I stuttered, 'yeah that's what I thought' White pulled away. He walked to the front door and glanced back 'Teddy I know you must be worried about your family, I contacted the other packs and they are happy to help. Whenever you want to go you can. Just know, no matter what you are always welcome here and I'll always protect you, so please think about what I said'. White slammed the door shut and I sat on the couch
torn between listening to my head and my heart.

4 hours later
I finally moved from the couch to wobbling across the floor. What White had said had struck me hard and I felt numb to the things around me. I opened the front door and stumbled outside. Apparently White had told me that the pack house is for everyone to use, some of the pack live there and have their own rooms but the rest live with their families in the large houses surrounding the enormous pack house. But White's house was more private he lived by himself a mile from the pack house in a small brick house up against a grassy cliff surrounded by woodland.

I staggered over the stones in the drive and crashed into an imposing dark figure. Raven. She looked me over and her face softened into to an expression of concern. I was surprised, I didn't know the person that had tried to kill me could express such emotions. 'Teddy I know what White said to you but you shouldn't take it to personally' she said. 'Why not?, why was he so forceful? I just didn't know what to say' I fumed. 'I do like him, but he's so emotional, for gods sake he even said I looked like someone he used to know'. 'He did?' Raven looked surprised ' I didn't think he'd ever mention her again' she mumbled.
'What, who was White talking about?' I asked.

'Someone who broke his heart very long ago. Our adopted sister, Violet'.
