While I Breath, I Hope

CHAPTER 2:

Pag pasok pa lang ni Petrov sa bagong bukas na bar ng kaibigan niyang si Mike Lewis nakita na agad niya si Cassian na kumakaway sa kanya, napailing na lang siya at lumapit. Half American ang kaibigan niyang si Mike Katulad niya kaya naging kaibigan niya ito noong high school sa America dahil may lahi din itong pinoy. Naging kaibigan naman ito ni Cassian noong nakakuha siya ng scholarship sa school na pinapasukan nila at naging mag ka-klase pa sila. Kaibigan na talaga ni Petrov si Cassian simula bata pa, pero dahil sa dun na sila sa America, tumira di na sila nag karoon ng communications.

Andito din naman ang iba pa nilang kaibigan; ang iba naman ay nasa ibang bansa dahil meron silang inaayos na business dun.

"What happened to your appointment, and why did you come here?" Cassian asked him as soon as he sat down on the sofa.

"Are you not grateful that I'm here? Kinukulit mo ako kanina tapos nag mamaktol ka na andito ako ngayon, "umikot naman ang mata ni Cassian dahil sa sinabi ni Petrov dito.

"How's the opening party, Mike?"

"Okay lang, naging smooth naman lahat." Sabi nito sa kanya habang nag sasalin ng alak sa baso sabay abot sa kanya.

"Do you guys know that Petrov has a crush on a doctor?" Cassian said with a smile, being the notorious gossipmonger that he is. Petrov wasn't surprised that Cassian would say something like that, so he just shook his head and didn't say anything.

"Really, who is it?" Pakiki-usyoso naman ni Silas pumapangalawa sa pagiging chismoso.

"Should I tell you?" Cassian asked, knowing that he would say it anyway.

"Dr. Vera, my doctor friend," he said.

"Oh, the beautiful doctor at your hospital who always smiles I think she was also Baby Sofia's doctor when she gave birth," Silas added.

"Yes, that's her," he nodded in agreement with Silas.

"I thought she was your girlfriend, Cassian?" Haven, who had been quiet until then, asked.

"Dude, naman kapatid ko yun. Tsaka baka masuntok ako ni Petrov pag niligawan ko yun." Sagot naman dito ni Cassian.

Petrov just glared at Haven, who raised his hands in surrender. Cassian just shook his head at his friend's actions, showing that he was used to them.

"Ikaw dude, ah kababalik mo lang sa pilipinas, nag hahanap ka na agad ng babae." Nakangiti pang biro dito ni Mike para mapunta sa kanya ang tingin ni Petrov dahil parang manununtok na ito.

"tsss" ito lang ang reply ni Petrov.

"Look, he didn't even deny it," Cassian added, grinning from ear to ear while his friends laughed.

They spent the whole night drinking and talking about their businesses.

"I heard that you have a new project on your parents' wine farm," Silas asked. They get serious when it comes to business.

"I just want to expand production and export internationally, but Daddy doesn't approve because he says the countries we export to are enough. But I want to release more products, not just wine, but he doesn't want me to because he said I need to get married soon," he explained.

"And that's your family business's trademark. When they hear wine, they immediately think of Lowsha because they know that your wine is one of the tastiest wines they'll ever have. That's why your dad doesn't want you to add more products. Besides, it's time for you to get married. You're getting old, malapit ka nang mawala sa kalendaryo." Sagot naman ni Mike na may ka akbay na babae.
