Jun laid his eyes on the most beautiful sight in front of him. He still couldn't believe the revelations from last night and their heartfelt conversations. It felt like a dream.
Gently, he pushed back Wei Ying's hair and tucked it behind his ears, a gesture he now couldn't stop, which made him realize that they just had two days to spend with each other—a decade of searching—and they had such limited time to cherish and just be in each other's presence.
'I am going to miss you, Wei Ying.' Jun let his fingers linger behind Xian's ears.
"How long are you planning on watching me sleep?" Xian popped open his one eye and grinned. Jun instantly retracted his hands back as if they were burnt, and Xian stretched his body to loosen the early morning kinks. "I hope you weren't pulling an Edward Cullen on me."
"Please don't compare me with your ex."
At Jun's statement, Xian sought the seriousness in them, and he burst out laughing. "Oh, Lan Zhan! Edward..." He let out a snort into his pillow and bit it hard. "He isn't my ex. He's a hundred-year-old vampire."
"What?"
"Twilight?" Xian leaned forward and kissed Jun's forehead. "Nevermind. It's a book. Edward Cullen is a vampire from a book named Twilight. Read it."
Moving back, Xian's eyes twinkled with mischief. It had been way too long since he felt this free.
"Liked something you saw, Mr. Lan? I caught you oogling."
Just when Xian thought Azure would be embarrassed, he was shocked at Azure's confession. "Never before have I taken time to admire this beauty in front of me. There have been countless mornings where I left this bed either empty and devoid of you or with you sound asleep, but never have I stopped and paid attention to how beautiful you are. Pretty. Very pretty."
"Lan Zhan."
"Mn?"
"There are drool marks on my face, gunk in my eyes, and I am pretty sure I have morning breath. Why the fuck would you find me pretty? Get your eyes checked, old man." Xian was about to dismiss Azure when the other man cupped his face and smiled knowingly, "You're right. You have disgusting drool marring your face, but that just shows you slept well, which means you feel safe in my arms."
Xian had no words to express his thoughts. A moment later, he pulled Azure closer and said, "If I were to kiss you right now, would it not disgust you?"
"It will. You have a terrible morning breath."
Xian pushed Azure and hit his chest. "F*ck o*f"
Landing on his back, Azure laughed as Xian lunged towards the bathroom and muttered the choicest of words.
"Language!" Azure grinned and said, "Also remember, I like you."
All Xian did was walk out, flip him the middle finger, and close the door behind him.
Grinning all the while, Jun pulled Xian's pillow to his chest and covered his teenage smile. Who needed se* when it was moments like these that made their relationship all the more special?
