Warm breeze brushes gently on Y/n's skin as she trudge across the green forest. Her hydro vision glistening under the warm sunlight, dangling from her choker. Her hair swayed with the wind. She closed her eyes and breathe in, the smell of grass tickled at her nose. She opened them and stared at the sky before continuing on her journey.
Y/n is an Amurta researcher working at Pardis Dhyai. She had close relationship with Tighnari and the sage of Amurta, Naphis. Although she already graduated from the Akademiya, she insisted on staying in Pardis Dhyai to work on a research.
That was not her main reason though. She just thought it was troublesome to be a worker at the Akademiya and she would rather immersed herself in her research instead. She prefers not meddling with those petty researchers at the Akademiya who knows nothing but to boast their arrogance in every nook and cranny.
Y/n was incredibly intelligent. A genius one would say. She could understand the biology of some of the rarest plants after studying them for an hour. She even made breakthroughs in developing a gadget to better understand the biology of the nature which shook the entire Akademiya.
Amurta researchers who worked in the Akademiya tried to recruit her many times but failed each time they do so. Her reasoning was "It's too much of a hassle for me. I'll pass and don't come back again." But she knew very well she will be bothered each time and make sure to answer the exact same thing until their ears bled.
That was until the Akademiya was turned upside down and most of the sages got exiled to the Avidya Forest to dedicate the rest of their lives cultivating wisdom. It shocked you when you heard what happened from Tighnari. You couldn't help but feel like their sentences was too lenient but respected the archon's choice.
Because of that you were called to the Akademiya to help around temporarily since they were short on staffs and things are very unstable. You sighed as you got a letter from the Acting Grand Sage asking for your presence in the Akademiya.
That leads to where you are now. In front of the Akademiya grandiose doorstep. You couldn't help but cringed at the thought of hearing people whisper about your arrival. You were famously sought after all.
You entered through the door and as expected, what greeted you was the whispers and glances of the people at your arrival. You immediately regretted your actions agreeing to come here in the first place. You feel like banging your head on the wall for archon's sake.
Before you could lose your sanity right then and there, you noticed someone walking to you.
"Y/n right? I'm very pleased to finally meet you." You saw his eyes sparkling with excitement and couldn't help but feel shy.
"Yeah..um nice to meet you too." You put your hands behind your back as you greets him in return.
"I'm Dani. I'm here to escort you to the Acting Grand Sage's office upon your arrival." He introduces himself.
"I'm Y/n. I will be in your care then." You gave him a small smile and he gestured you to follow him to the office.
You entered House of Daena and smiles as you scanned the whole area. Nothing changed except for the books from the last time you were here.
"You've been researching in Pardis Dhyai, correct? I've always wanted to meet you and ask for a few tips since you're quite famous in the Amurta Darshan. Everyone was looking up to you, including me." Dani breaks the silence.
"Well I'm always free to give a few tips if you want. Just come find me." you replied without looking at him.
"That's very nice to hear. I'm sure to be at your doorstep later." He joked and you giggled.
Not long after your conversation ends, you arrived at the office.
"Acting Grand Sage Alhaitham, I've brought her here."
You saw a tall well-built man scanning through the mountain of documents. You sweat dropped at the amount stacked up on his desk.
That's gotta be hell to deal with..
"Thanks. You may leave now." He puts down the paper and shifts his attention to you.
"Y/n correct? I appreciate you coming here to lend a hand." He leaned against the table and cross his arms.
"Well, it's my job to do so even though it came as a shock to me the Akademiya was turned upside down overnight." You shrugged. It was pretty funny now that you think back how Azar's people tried to coax you into joining them. You're glad you declined their offer.
"So, what do I need to do here?" You asked Alhaitham, wanting to get shits done straight away.
He walks up to you making you unconsciously stepped back because of his big figure. He stood in front of you and you finally get a good look on his face.
He's pretty.
You thought but then taken aback when you realize Alhaitham's face was just a few inches away from you. Your eyes locked with him.
"Something on my face?" he asked making you snap out of your trance and immediately averted your eyes.
"No..nothing." you awkwardly replied, not daring to look him in the eyes. Your face heated up when he kept staring at you making you feel conscious.
He turned away from you and pointed out to the stacks of papers on his desk.
Surely he's not..
"You can start by handling those stacks of papers. Just sort them out. I'll sign them later." You stared at him in disbelief by what went through your ears.
"You've gotta be kidding me.. All that?" You feel like fainting imagining trying to finish sorting through that paper mountain.
"Do you want to sign them too?" Your eyes was about to fall out of your sockets at his statement.
"Definitely not!" He smirks then made his way to his desk.
"Get to work then."
You swear you wanna rip his hair off but rid your thoughts on it and starts working.
Thus begin your hellish story.
