It was meant to be an ordinary Thursday morning . Take Dog for a walk , breakfast and then work ,start milking the cows , feeding the chickens and then go and repair the roof on the barn, well that was the plan . You see it didn't turn out like that , the day changed in such a dramatic life changing way , Daryl could not even of imagined it even if he tried .
It was all down to one person Nicola Grace Grimes . His best friends lil sister , he met her at his best friends birthday and the moment he saw her she captivated his heart . She was beautiful, blonde , curvy and had these captivating brown eyes that made his heart skip a million beats .
He spoke to her when he was having a cigarette outside , she was smoking one of those vapes, he'd had a couple of whiskeys so felt bold , which surprised him as he would of never done anything like this normally .
"What's the point in that fruity pen, ya may as well smoke" Daryl mumbled

"That stick your smoking is full of nasty chemicals , sorry that's not for me at least I get my nicotine high without the other crap" Nikki

He met Rick grimes when he arrested his brother Merle , Daryl had come to pay his bail and he and Rick got chatting then when daryl went to the bar to pay pool with his friend Abe , Rick was there and they played pool together and clicked , when Merle beat daryl half to death in a drug induced rage it was Rick that helped him through it, Daryl was there for Rick , when he found out his wife Lori was cheating on him with his friend Shane and when they died in a car crash it was Daryl that showed Rick it was ok to grieve, and when Merle died of a drugs overdose it was Rick that helped Daryl through it , show him even though his brother was a waste of space, he was still his brother and it was ok to grieve for him .
This was why he wasn't sure how Rick would feel about him dating his baby sister, she was Ricks baby sister through and through there were 8 years between them and Rick always looked out for her , when she had a one night stand with Shane, Daryl remembered Rick nearly killed him .
He couldn't lose Rick , but god Nikki drove him insane .
He was on the roof repairing the hole not really concentrating , it was also raining so not the best of conditions, one minute Daryl was on the roof the next he felt his feet slip from under him and he landed on the gravel path with a thud, the last thing he thought of before he passed out was Nikki , his beautiful sweet Nikki ,
