Chapter 12

Previously: "Deeks" she pauses. "I'm late."

Deeks' POV

"Kens, am I hearing that right?" I ask her. She's still looking in her lap. She looks as if it's her fault, not that this is even a problem, I mean, we're together and I love her. Wait I love her. Do I love Kensi ? I lift up her head and look into her eyes. "Kensi, why are you upset about this?"
"Deeks what we do, we can't have kids. It just doesn't happen, or only happens rarely."
"I don't care if it's not common in this line of work. I love you and would love nothing more than to have a child with you." I notice Kensi tearing up in front of me, I put my hand on her cheek and kiss her. We then break from the kiss and look into each other's eyes. She then says, "If I am having a child, I'm glad it's with you."
"We'll go to the doctor on Saturday and find out." I reply and smile.
"Ok." Kensi replies and then looks at me. "Thanks Deeks, and I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"Causing all of this-" she says and makes a gesture with her hands (referring to the situation).
"Kens it's not your fault, and anyway, you need 2 people to have a child." I smirk at her.
"Oh I know that." She winks at me in a flirtatious way.
"Let's go back to OPS, we do have 5 children to find." Deeks replies.

We arrive at OPS 20 minutes later and all we have is that they were all taken after playgroup and that every teacher said no one who normally isn't there was there. This case is difficult on its own, now we have nothing and that makes it 10 times harder. Nell then starts taping on her keyboard frantically and starts saying some technical words to Eric, that only he'd understand. His reply to this is "oh Nell, that's good," and also starts typing crazily. So we all start looking at each other wondering what's going on, until Callen speaks up, "Nell what have you got?"
"Well I was going through security tapes from outside of each preschool and no one was flagged with any criminal charges, except a few parking charges which were paid off. So I checked and each of the child's parents who are in the army, picked their child up." Nell says.
"So why did none of the parents say this when they were interviewed?" I ask.
"Think about it, none of the military parents spoke during the interviews. Darcy Lees father simply sat on the couch with a glum look on his face, he didn't say a word." Kensi says.
"Oh yeah." I reply.
"So what are you saying these parents have kid napped their own children and holding them captive somewhere? Why would they do that?" Sam questions.
"I have no clue." I reply.
"I might." Eric says, we all turn around and look at him. "Darcy Lee's mother just got a call asking for $100,000 in exchange for her daughter."
"Why would her father do that though, surely he knows that she can't pay that?" Sam questions.
"Well clearly he's not smart enough to think about that." I reply.
"Let's go bring the father in for questioning." Callen says.

I am aware that this chapter is very short but I have writers block and can't think. I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but every time I write a new chapter, I have to read all of my previous ones because i forget certain details and that makes it so much longer. I'm sorry and I'll try and solve the crime in the next few chapters and then focus on Densi for a bit. Can you please tell me if you're liking the storyline because I'm not sure about it and really want to know☺️ Thank you for reading and please vote/comment.
