"Shannon, baby, I'm here." Shannon's Uncle Paul rushes into the hospital and from her bed, Shannon sees his dark blurry figure. "We need to get you to the mall." Shannon rubs her eyes and says to him. Uncle Paul laughs and sits down next to her. They stare at eachother for a while. "Your mama's on her way over here." Paul huffs. "What? What did you tell her?" Her distressed look puts Paul's head into his hands. "I'm sorry Shan but a long time ago, when you were dumped in my... Dump. I promised your mama that whatever happened to you, I would let her know about it. Your mama worries about you Shan." Shannon rolls her eyes. "I know! But this? Really? Are you stupid enough to let my mom know about the parties I go to, you know how majorly mature they are." Uncle Paul stands up and towers over Shannon. "Be careful about what you call people, you could get in some real trouble one day." Uncle Paul leaves the hospital and Shannon mutters under her breath, "I'm already in "real trouble"." Shannon checks her phone for any messages from Bethany and there's only one. "we need to talk😪can we meet up at costa for brunch✌🏼☕️" Shannon answers, "fine😑because you chose Costa over Starbucks it must be serious😏I need some answers btw💆🏼" Shannon calls for a doctor and asks to leave. "You can leave as soon as I give you another check." The doctor says. "Wait. What happened to me, afterwards?" Shannon curiously asks. "After you came back in to see me you starting going on about a party, it was all very crazy, you seemed tired. You passed out on the floor so some nurses and I helped you onto a bed and looked into your injuries. They were very minor, even the blood on your head. The scratches and bruises will fade very quickly and the cut on your forehead was cleaned. It wasn't very wide so there was no need for stitches. Now let me have another look at it and you can head home. Safe and sound." The doctor smiles and puts his gloves on. Shannon is pleased to think about her brunch with Bethany. Shannon sees Bethany outside of Costa and hugs her tightly. "We need to catch up." Shannon throws her hands into the air. "Calm down Shan. I don't feel like talking about Zac Efron right now or Cara Deleveigne... Or Kylie Jenner." Bethany crosses her arms and shyly looks to the ground. "I get it. You want to talk about us. What I said this morning was whack." Shannon exclaims. "It was more than whack Shannon! It was the most unrealistic thing I've ever heard you say. It was so unlike you." Bethany backs away. "I'm sorry but I'm not gonna pretend like I never saw eleven pics of you and Callum naked in your snapchat story." Shannon takes Bethany by the arm. "I don't know what happened last night but we need to find out, since neither of us remember." Shannon says to Bethany. "You're right. First things first. Coffee." Bethany drags Shannon into Costa. They drink their caramel lattes with cream and toffee toppings. "Everything is stuck in my teeth." Bethany starts rolling her finger around her gum. "Stop it." Shannon slaps Bethany's arm. "Ow! What the- holy mother of Justin Bieber wearing Calvin Klein underwear!" Callum and his mate Warren stroll into Topman right in front of Shannon and Bethany. "OMG! Let's go." Shannon stomps up to the Topman automatic doors. "Wait. Topman only sells clothes for men. It's a bit weird if we go in there." Shannon flicks her hair around and stares at Bethany. "No it's not! We'll just say we're... Shopping for our boyfriends! It's our anniversaries!" Shannon runs into Topman and frantically looks around for Callum and Warren. Bethany giggles. "What?!" Shannon asks. "You're mad." Bethany puts her hand on Shannon's shoulder. Shannon smirks and starts to race through Topman hand in hand with Bethany. People start to shout and rant at them. "Shannon!" Bethany screams. "Stop pushing people!" She screams again. "We don't know them so it's alright. They don't recognise us." Shannon says. Bethany giggles again. "Why do I find you so funny?" Bethany is now in fits of laughter. Eventually they get kicked out from ruining clothes. "They were in the way, I couldn't help but stamping on them while running!" Shannon says. "Face it. We'll never be agents. We should've watched James Bond when we had the chance." Bethany shakes her head and puts her hands on her hips. "We can just go to his house, he probably headed home like an hour ago." Shannon and Bethany take a cab to Callum's house and luckily, he's there, with no one else. "Hello- oh no!" Callum freezes with his door wide open, Bethany shuffles past him and Shannon shoves him out of the way and kicks his door closed. "Hey... Babe?" Callum says, scratching the back of his head. "Don't call me babe." Shannon kicks him in the shins. "What the hell are you doing?" Callum yells. Bethany elbows Shannon, "Tone it down a little." Shannon moans. "Tell me. EVERYTHING." Shannon goes right up into Callum's face. "What? What do you mean? I'm confused-" "Hell you are. Your not confused! You know what happened last night and your gonna tell me." Shannon says, gritting her teeth. "Your angry. I can make you happy again. Like it used to be." Callum takes Shannon's hands. "Get away from me!" Shannon straight up punches Callum in the nose. "Jesus Christ! Shannon! I think you broke my face!" Callum rubs his nose. "Oh shut up! Who cares if your nose is broken, my heart is broken." Callum grabs a tissue for his bleeding nose and sits down. Shannon and Bethany sit next to him. "Why doesn't Bethany tell you? She's your best friend." Callum says. "Bethany can't remember a thing! Neither can I." Callum runs to the kitchen and grabs his phone, flicking through his photos. "What are you doing?" Bethany asks. "Did anyone give you a funny looking drink? Say yellow or green?" Shannon and Bethany gasp. "Yes!" Bethany blurts out, shaking Shannon's shoulder. "Did she look... Like this?" Callum shows Shannon and Bethany a picture on his phone. "Red hair, tattoos, piercings... She does look familiar. But I can't say for sure, I can't remember anything!" Shannon says. "She gave me a drink! I remember as clear as water." Bethany says jumping up and down. "Her name's Sally McGuire." They all look at each other and everything stays silent until Bethany speaks up. "I think we're onto something."
