Hello folks! I'm writing this fanfic because I wanted to see more Luffy with the Hana Hana no mi I have only seen two fanfics that explore this concept, one of them is on Ao3 and its  called "Heart Stealer"  you can find it  by typing in "Different Devil fruit Luffy" in the google search bar and opening Ao3 and going to the 4th page of results (I think). give it a read! anyway lets get started!

3rd person Pov:

It was a sunny day, the usual for the residents that live on Dawn island. On this Island is a sleepy rural village that's located on the outskirts of the capital, This village is simply known as Foosha Village.

In Foosha Village among its windmills and prominent mountain sits a little bar simply refered to as "Partys Bar" owned by a lovely young women named Makino who was now closing up for the day.

Inside the bar and amongst its many tables and chairs drinking a glass of juice, sits a little boy he has black shaggy hair and round black eyes and is wearing a white shirt with a yellow X in the middle and red shorts with sandals.

"Luffy?" Asks a women with brown eyes and green hair who was  wearing a yellow kerchief in her hair and an orange blouse with black sleeves, she was holding an empty wine glass in hand before putting it away. "Can you help me  put away some of these dishes?"  Luffy who had turned to her when he heard her say his name, nodded and got up and walked up toward the bar counter and to the little door that allowed him to stand behind the counter, entering the area he approached the women.

Upon seeing the boy, Makino, who was the owner and bar tender, smiled at the boy before handing him a clean glass for him to put away. The two fell into an easy silence after their little exchange and before they knew it they were done and it was time to turn in for the night.

The next day:

It was another sunny day and Luffy is walking around the little village smiling and greeting other village residents as he walks past them before he comes up to a familiar bar. Still smiling he approaches the door but before he opens the door he stops and turns toward the dock where he hears laughter and talking. Curious he walks toward the docks where he sees Makino talking to an unfamiliar Red Haired man with a strawhat. Still curious but now cautious he approaches the two. As he approaches he notices the mystery man is not alone as behind the guy he sees a group of people and behind them he sees a ship with a flag on it, suddenly filled with nervous excitement Luffy picked up the pace and he soon got close enough to the man and Makino that they would be able to hear him.

Luffy now within hearing distance of the two couldn't keep his question in any longer and asked a bit excited, "Hey mister, are you pirate?" The man, hearing a childish voice call out to him looked to where he heard the voice and with a smile and a wave he introduced himself , " Well hey there kid, My name is Shanks and to answer your question, why yes I am a pirate!"  He then gestured to the people behind him, "and this is my Crew." The crew having being addressed all greeted the kid and Luffy greeted them back before he returned his attention to Shanks who waited patiently  for his crew to finish their greetings and with a smirk he ended the introduction saying, "We call ourselves the Red Haired pirates and I happen to be the captain. Nice to meet you kid." Luffy who was sucking up the information like a sponge couldn't help but smile a wide smile. He then introduced himself with a proud smile,
"Nice to meet you to Shanks! My Name is Monkey D Luffy." He then turned to Makino who's been smiling at the exchange with a pout,

"Makinoooo, why didn't you tell me you were friends with a pirate?" Shanks hearing that couldn't help but let out a chuckle and neither could his crew. Luffy who heard this blushed out of embarrassment and let out a little huff muttering something about it not being funny while crossing his arms with an even bigger pout.  Shanks and his crew only laughed harder at that, adding insult to injury Makino was also giggling. Luffy having had enough of the embarrassment lets out a louder huff and stomped the ground before yelling, "SHUT UP SHANKS, ITS NOT FUNNY!" Before stomping off back toward the bar. Makino who stopped her giggling and trying her best not to start again, noticed where he was going and glanced back at the now loudly laughing crew who have now drawn attention to themselves, shaking her head with a smile she started following the poor embarrassed boy back to her bar knowing that after shanks and his crew stop laughing they would have to come by her bar.
